We are searching for a talented Engineering professional to join our Acculogic family as a Engineering Manager headquartered at our Markham, Ontario facility and reporting to our Divisional Vice President/General Manager. This critical role supports the Acculogic business which is housed in the Electronic Test division of inTEST Corporation. This division is on a trajectory of growth and provides an opportunity to support a global organization.


You, will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for leading the Engineering organization for Acculogic which will entail developing innovative solutions, continuous improvement and project management for the electrical test equipment market with a focus on automation and customer driven customization.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position will directly supervise, coach, and mentor approximately 11 team members of various engineering disciplines.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and build a world-class, technically diverse, high-performing team by measuring and monitoring results for performance, coaching, counseling, and providing direction as necessary.
  • Actively participate in the performance management process inclusive of, KPIs, goals and objectives and individualized development plans.
  • Implement and maintain the project management stage gate process to ensure timely completion of all customer and technology roadmap driven projects.
  • Provide agile leadership to adjust and manage schedules, prioritize project planning based upon customer requirements and manufacturing needs.
  • Serve as a key member of the business unit’s senior leadership team.
  • Deliver technical support [remotely or onsite] to customers of new and existing products.
  • Establish and direct the implementation of engineering and documentation control standards and procedures, including document control, change and reproduction procedures. This includes the ownership of engineering IT systems [M2K, ECO/ECN, CAD, PDM, etc.]
  • Work with sales and marketing on the creation and maintenance of a market driven technology and product roadmap.
  • Partners with marketing regarding sales presentations, catalogs, and general advertising literature. Define and implement metrics to monitor and enhance the performance of the engineering organization and individuals there within.
  • Responsible for management of the Acculogic Intellectual Property portfolio including patents and trademarks.
  • Involvement in M&A as a technical knowledge evaluator as required.
  • Must be willing to travel 10-15%, potentially more as acquisitions continue.
  • Analysis of customer specifications together with the project team, account manager and in some cases with related customer
  • Selection of electrical, electronic, electromechanical components
  • Definition of requirements for testing and diagnostics
  • Supervision during assembly and first product validation
  • Organization and creation of the bill of materials
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:


Minimum 7 years’ experience in an electrical test environment with strong knowledge of automated test equipment solutions including, but not limited to:

  • Understanding of test and tester instrumentation.
  • Foundational understanding of transmission line design and characterization in areas including RF, parametric, digital/analog, and high current/high voltage applications.
  • Good Knowledge in PCBA In-Circuit-Testing.
  • Good skills in mechanics, pneumatics, electromechanics.
  • Good knowledge of electronics, component and PCB design.
  • Good knowledge of motion control systems and their component elements (control, drivers, motors).
  • Minimum 5 years’ management experience required, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Equipment automation knowledge with an understanding of Industry 4.0 preferred.
  • Stage Gate product development process experience preferred.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechatronic or electronic), Physics, or related field.
  • Not a remote work position.
  • Solid project management skills required.
