Position Summary:
Our products support thousands of healthcare providers and millions of patients across Canada. Foundational platform and self‑serve capabilities are critical to enabling our product, sales, revenue, and implementations teams to move faster, scale safely, and deliver meaningful value to customers.
We are looking for an experienced Group Product Manager to lead our Platform and Self‑Serve portfolios. In this role, you will be responsible for setting product strategy for shared technical capabilities that underpin our core products, while coaching and developing a team of Product Managers responsible for delivering those capabilities.
This is a player‑coach role. You will manage and mentor up to five Product Managers while also acting as the hands‑on product lead for a small number of high‑impact, technically complex initiatives that span multiple teams and systems.
If you are a big‑picture technical product leader who thrives at the intersection of customer value, technical strategy, and organizational leadership — and who wants to make a lasting impact on Canadian healthcare — this role is for you.
Results‑Oriented Leadership – Drives clarity, accountability, and outcomes aligned to organizational priorities.
Strong Interpersonal Skills – Establishes credibility across Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Executive Leadership through clear communication, humility, and influence.
Coaching & People Development – Leads, mentors, and grows both direct and indirect reports, building strong product craft and leadership capability.
Analytical & Systems Thinking – Synthesizes complex, ambiguous information to make informed, high‑quality product decisions.
Consensus Builder – Influences without authority, builds alignment across teams, and navigates competing priorities with confidence and energy.
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Platform and Self‑Serve capabilities.
Balance near‑term delivery with long‑term investments in scalability, reliability, and technical debt reduction.
Define clear outcomes, success metrics, and prioritization frameworks across the portfolio.
Act as a senior product voice in architectural and technical discussions, advocating for customer value and long‑term sustainability.
Manage 3–5 Product Managers through regular 1:1s, performance assessments, and ongoing coaching.
Lead by example and develop outcome‑driven Product Managers who:
Own deep understanding of their customers, users, and stakeholders
Maintain hands‑on understanding of the technical solutions they manage
Communicate progress, risks, and trade‑offs clearly
Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product organization.
Act as the hands‑on Product/Program Lead for select high‑impact, cross‑cutting initiatives that require strong dependency management and sequencing.
Lead multi‑quarter initiatives spanning multiple teams, coordinating closely with Development, Architecture, Security, and the PMO.
Identify and mitigate risks related to scope, technical constraints, resourcing, and timelines.
Partner closely with Development, Technology, Architecture, and Security to evolve shared capabilities such as:
Authentication, authorization, and identity
Configuration and administration
Internal tooling and developer experience
Translate complex technical concepts into clear product outcomes and trade‑offs for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Ensure platform capabilities are reusable, reliable, and aligned with downstream product and customer needs.
Establish and track meaningful success metrics (e.g., adoption, reliability, performance, internal customer satisfaction).
Communicate progress, decisions, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Act as a product evangelist and thought leader, promoting strong product practices and customer‑centric decision‑making.
Promote QHR’s CORE framework and contribute to a collaborative, positive, and efficient workplace.
Support customer engagements, incident response, sales demos, and strategic initiatives as required.
Contribute positively to QHR’s internal culture and external product reputation.
Perform other duties consistent with the position, as reasonably directed.
5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or similar role, with significant experience owning technical or platform‑adjacent products.
2+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing Product Managers.
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑team initiatives with multiple dependencies.
Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage deeply with Development, Business Systems, and Architecture partners.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive‑level influencing skills.
Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Assets Include:
Experience with identity/authentication, APIs, data platforms, or internal tooling
Experience operating in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, public sector)
Exposure to program or portfolio‑level delivery
Agile, Pragmatic Institute, or PMP‑related certifications
Compensation and Logistics:
Base salary, variable bonus established at the corporate level, competitive benefits package
Hiring Range: $110,000 - $140,000 annual
