Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a Social Media Assistant to support the day-to-day execution of their digital content strategy across Instagram and TikTok. They operate within the consumer/lifestyle space and have recently been growing their presence through engaging, short-form content and brand-driven storytelling.

This role is highly execution-focused, ideal for someone who already has hands-on experience managing social media accounts for brands and understands what performs on short-form platforms. The position requires a mix of creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to maintain a consistent brand voice while driving engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form videos for Reels and TikTok using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar platforms
  • Apply captions, transitions, trending audio, and proper pacing for videos ranging from 7 to 60 seconds
  • Manage Instagram content, including scheduling posts, publishing Reels, uploading stories, and creating carousels
  • Handle TikTok posting, including formatting, captions, and hashtag optimization
  • Design and resize visual assets in Canva, including story formats, carousel posts, and branded overlays
  • Take full ownership of carousel creation aligned with brand guidelines
  • Engage with the community by responding to comments and direct messages in a consistent and natural brand tone
  • Use scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, or similar platforms to plan and publish content
  • Monitor and interpret Instagram Insights and TikTok Analytics to identify trends and top-performing content
  • Repurpose UGC (user-generated content) into polished, branded videos ready for publishing
  • Apply basic SEO practices within Instagram captions and profiles to improve discoverability


Requirements

  • Strong English writing skills with the ability to communicate naturally and professionally
  • Hands-on experience with Canva for content creation and formatting
  • Familiarity with content scheduling platforms such as Later or Buffer
  • Understanding of social media algorithms and what drives engagement (reach, saves, shares)
  • Experience managing community engagement for business accounts (comments and DMs)
  • Availability to work one of the following schedules (CST):
    • Preferred: Split shift (7:00–9:00 AM and 6:00–8:00 PM)
    • Alternative: 6:00–10:00 AM or 5:00–9:00 PM

Qualifications

  • Experience working with food, wellness, lifestyle, or consumer product brands
  • Familiarity with ManyChat or similar automation tools
  • Experience with hashtag research and optimization strategies
  • Basic understanding of SEO for social media platforms
  • Experience working with UGC content workflows
  • Ability to identify trends and adapt content quickly
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
