Host Home Provider (HHP)

Role summary: Ascendigo Autism Services is seeking compassionate individuals or families to serve as Host Home Providers for adults with autism and other intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Host Home Providers open their homes to support an individual in a safe, stable, and inclusive living environment, while fostering independence, connection, and a meaningful life in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Support & Skill Building

  • Provide a welcoming, stable home environment with consistent structure and support
  • Assist with daily living activities (meals, routines, hygiene, household tasks) as needed
  • Foster independence, confidence, and life skills development
  • Support behavioral, health, and wellness goals in alignment with the Individual Support Plan  

Community & Connection

  • Encourage and facilitate community engagement, relationships, and meaningful activities
  • Support access to employment, recreation, and social opportunities
  • Provide or coordinate transportation as needed

Care Coordination & Documentation

  • Partner with the interdisciplinary team to implement person-centered supports
  • Participate in ISP meetings and ongoing communication
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation to support quality care and compliance
  • Uphold individual rights including privacy, dignity, choice, and autonomy
  • Follow required incident reporting and communication protocols



Home Environment Expectations

  • Provide a private bedroom and appropriate shared living space
  • Create an environment that promotes belonging, independence, and personal choice
  • Meet required safety and home readiness standards, including inspection and approval

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with autism or developmental disabilities preferred (training provided)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
  • Ability to pass required background checks and screenings
  • Strong communication, organization, and relational skills

Compensation & Structure

  • Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Monthly stipend based on level of care and individual needs
