Cluster Security Lead East Europe 

 

Purpose:

The Cluster Security Lead is responsible for effectively deploying the capabilities of Corporate Global Security to support stakeholders within the Cluster, including divisional businesses and Enabling Functions, in alignment with Bayer's mission of "Health for all, Hunger for none."  This role is crucial for fulfilling Bayer’s commitment to protecting its employees, sites, products, intellectual property, and reputation against security threats, crime, and crisis events. Additionally, the Cluster Security Lead plays an essential role in ensuring compliance with security related regulations necessary for maintaining the company's License to Operate within the Cluster.

Key Tasks:

  • Lead Security Operations in the Cluster.
  • Contribute to building effective teams as well as engaging employees with security responsibilities.
  • Ensure Cluster security community is focused on value-creating security related activities that are based on business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a key advisor and subject matter expert for security matters in the East Europe Cluster.
  • Coordinate, support and enable the physical security risk management process in the respective Country /Cluster. Advise risk owners on implementation of the security risk management process at respective sites.
  • Coordinate the identification and conduct assessment of relevant security threats to company assets and employees, keeping stakeholders informed and suggesting mitigation strategies.
  • Perform Security Vulnerability Assessments of Bayer sites as requested by Risk Owners, and assist with the Site Security Risk Assessment process, including selecting appropriate risk treatment options.
  • Develop and support the implementation of security risk mitigation measures at sites, ensuring that CGS expertise is utilized effectively for security-related capital expenditure projects.
  • Actively contribute to the supplier selection and management process for security service providers in the Cluster. Ensure stakeholders’ awareness of Supply Chain Due Diligence requirements for human rights protection by contracted security force.  
  • Support Crisis Management activities in the Cluster.
  • Ensure that CGS threat intelligence capabilities are effectively deployed to support stakeholders in the Cluster with timely, relevant and actionable security intelligence.
  • Support the Travel Security Risk Management Program. Define Travel Security Advisory for the Cluster in consultation with CGS. Support CGS efforts in emergency well-being checks and medical/emergency evacuation for travelers.
  • Support Event Organizers with managing security risks during Bayer events in the Cluster.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and training of employees with security responsibilities.
  • Promote adherence to the company’s security incident reporting policy and support CGS in increasing the reporting rate of security incidents through dedicated channels.
  • Coordinate external security-related stakeholder engagement activities within the Cluster.

Key Working Relation:

CGS, Site Managers, Site security Focal Points and other employees with security responsibilities, Cluster Enabling Functions, Cluster CFO, security service providers, authorities.

 

Qualification & Competencies:

  • 5 + years of experience in a security related field: corporate security, private security, law enforcement, military, or national security.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree is essential, though relevant working experience may be considered an equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and experience in security risk management, security operations, and incident management.
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence without direct authority.
  • Industry certifications such as ASIS CPP or ISMI CSMP are an advantage.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a focus on VACC Leadership Skills.
  • Experience in working with senior management groups with the ability to influence and challenge positively stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical capabilities, business skills and ability to deal with conflicts and fast-moving dynamics, assess risks and take critical decisions
  • Strong communication and social competences to engage with stakeholders, challenge status quo and manage ambiguity
  • Flexibility, agility, interpersonal skills to address cultural diversity
