The Role
Join a high-autonomy team dedicated to solving the most complex commercial challenges in Life Sciences. As a Data Scientist in our Business Consulting group, you will transform raw data into strategic insights that help our customers deliver life-saving medicines to patients faster and more efficiently. You will bridge the gap between sophisticated mathematical modeling and real-world business impact, ensuring every solution we build is scalable, accurate, and meaningful.
What You'll Do
Solve Real-World Challenges: Use your technical expertise on 4–12 week analytics engagements that directly impact Brand Strategy, Patient Analytics, and Sales Operations for global pharmaceutical leaders
Translate Data to Value: Transform complex commercial events—such as pharmacy claims and prescriber trends—into clear, actionable narratives that help customers improve patient access to therapy
Architect Scalable Solutions: Design and implement structured data models and reusable code patterns that ensure our insights are consistent, reliable, and platform-ready
Consult with Purpose: Partner closely with business leaders to navigate ambiguous requirements, ensuring our technical execution is always grounded in the customer's "bottom line" goals
Drive Team Velocity: Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and standardize data processing to accelerate the delivery of high-signal insights to the market
Requirements
PhD in a STEM field plus 1+ years of experience in a Data Science role. Alternatively, a Masters degree in a STEM field plus 3 years experience
Data Intuition & Real-World Mapping: Exceptional ability to understand how raw data connects to real-world events. You must be able to strategically clean and structure complex datasets to preserve the "business signal" for analysis
Mathematical Foundation: A strong intuition for grounding problem-solving in mathematical principles and a deep curiosity for the "why" behind data trends
Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL with the ability to independently develop and troubleshoot data processing pipelines
Industry Context: Experience in the Life Sciences industry is essential, with a focus on understanding the commercial landscape (Patient, Brand, or Sales Operations)
Communication with Impact: The ability to distill complex technical findings into strategic stories that drive decision-making for non-technical business leaders
Analytical Problem-Solving: A proven track record of defining a clear technical blueprint and business objective before initiating execution
Nice to Have
Consulting Experience: Previous experience in a client-facing role, managing project timelines and stakeholder expectations
Workflow Orchestration: Familiarity with Airflow or similar tools for automating and scheduling data workflows
