Position Title: Senior Director, Commercial Analytics


Preferred Location: Remote – US 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Proactively analyzes performance of our franchise and identifies actionable insights across Sales, Marketing and Marketing Access
  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop KPIs, metrics, dashboards and analyses that enable Commercial Leadership to measure the effectiveness of key investments to drive growth
  • Oversees multiple data vendors, constantly looking to identify areas of efficiency 
  • Analyzes and provide ROI measurements to Sales & Marketing in support of efficient resource allocation and investments to our business
  • Leverages insights and available data sources to inform quarterly HCP targeting (personal promotion and digital promotion)
  • Oversees the IC / Field reporting function, providing coaching and analytical support, as needed to support the success of this individual 
  • Provides broad set of analytical metrics on a quarterly basis to CFO and head of Investor Relations to support earnings communications and investor inquiries
  • Demonstrates a high degree of fluency across the spectrum of strategic thinking 
  • Provide analytical ad-hoc support for Marketing efforts quantitatively through data mining to reveal trends and by answering key business questions.
  • Provides ad-hoc/gap analytics and reports to all levels of field sales management and other commercial stakeholders
  • Provides data and analysis to support sales field alignment, targeting, call planning, incentive compensation, sales and field activity reporting and aggregate spend reporting.
  • Monthly national audit reporting and integration of national audits into data warehouse
  • Ensures that all aspects of assigned areas are conducted in a compliant fashion and are aligned to the needs of the sales organization and overall corporate direction/strategy/goals

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or life science discipline; MBA or other advanced degree preferred; or equivalent education and experience
  • 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics and/or sales operations
  • Possess an ability to translate technical, advanced analytics across the company into a clear narrative with recommendations to help improve our commercial business.
  • Minimum of 8 years of direct management experience
  • Deep experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, claims, lab, and other syndicated data sources)
  • Customer-service orientation with strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, propose solutions, gain alignment and execute plans successfully
  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to address complex business questions with articulate, actionable, and fact-based insights and recommendations
  • Ability to run basic statistical/analytic/ROI analyses, contribute to new analysis methodologies, and engage with analytics/statistical modeling experts as needed
  • Must be able to analyze various data sources, distil insights and communicate results.
  • Proven ability to work creatively in a small company, fast-paced environment maintaining flexibility and changing priorities to meet demanding timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective / collaborative working relationships
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
  • Proficient with other Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word to develop various presentations, reports, and documents for a variety of constituencies at Esperion
