This is a remote position.
They are seeking a Senior Advisory Analyst to serve as a core member of their client-facing consulting team. This is a 50/50 role: half your time will be spent directly supporting client engagements — on calls, in meetings, and occasionally on-site with agencies — and half will be spent doing the analytical and research work that makes those engagements credible and actionable.
You’ll work closely with senior consulting leads and the Director of Partnerships on active engagements, while also contributing to Engine One (grant funded research and technical assistance) and Engine Three (product and technology development) as needed. You are not just a project coordinator — you bring real law enforcement knowledge, analytical skill, and the ability to translate data into decisions.
Client Engagement Support (approx. 50%)
• Support senior consultants in delivering advisory engagements including organizational assessments, staffing studies, wellness diagnostics, technology validation, and data quality reviews.
• Participate in client discovery calls, stakeholder interviews, and site visits; take ownership of specific workstreams within larger engagements.
• Help prepare and present deliverables to agency leadership — including chiefs, command staff, and elected officials — in clear, accessible formats.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with agency contacts, demonstrating the organization's credibility and value.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals and scope-of-work development.
Research, Analysis & Deliverable Development (approx. 50%)
• Analyze law enforcement data including calls for service, staffing levels, use of force records, crime statistics, CAD/RMS exports, and survey data to support consulting engagements.
• Translate research and evidence-based findings into clear, practical recommendations for law enforcement practitioners.
• Draft high-quality written deliverables including reports, briefings, policy analyses, presentations, and proposals.
• Leverage generative AI tools (i.e., Claude) — including skills, agents, and automated workflows — to accelerate research synthesis, proposal development, and data analysis consistent with policies.
• Support product validation and customer discovery for Engine Three technology initiatives as needed.
• Contribute to grant-funded research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects within Engine One as needed.
The ideal candidate has worked inside a law enforcement agency — or closely alongside one — in an analytical, planning, or research capacity. You understand how policing organizations work from the inside, and you know how to earn the trust of practitioners. You’re equally comfortable pulling apart a dataset and presenting findings to a room of command staff.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience working in or for a law enforcement agency in a role such as crime analyst, intelligence analyst, department planner, research coordinator, or embedded evaluator.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze law enforcement data systems including CAD, RMS, staffing records, or crime statistics using tools such as Excel (advanced), PowerBI, Tableau, or ArcGIS/GIS platforms.
• Strong written communication skills — ability to produce clear, professional deliverables for both practitioner and executive audiences.
• Demonstrated comfort using generative AI tools (Claude or similar) in professional workflows, including for research synthesis, drafting, and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree required; field experience will be weighted heavily.
• Ability to travel periodically for client site visits and national events.
• Experience in a crime analysis, intelligence, or planning role within an agency of 100+ sworn officers.
• Familiarity with evidence-based policing research, CompStat, or performance management frameworks.
• Experience working with or for a consulting, research, or technical assistance organization supporting law enforcement.
• Exposure to AI agents, prompt engineering, or workflow automation tools (e.g., Claude skills, GPT APIs, or similar).
• Master’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, data science, or a related field is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.
• This is a full-time remote position. Travel is required based on client engagement needs (estimated 20–30% or 4-8 days overnight monthly).
• Salary is commensurate with experience. A competitive benefits package is offered.
• Candidates must agree to a background investigation and be authorized to work in the United States.
