Requirements:

  • Lead the Reimbursement Specialists team, act as a resource, and maintain ongoing communication with the Program Manager for projects, KPI development, and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain reimbursement processes and protocols, and monitor departmental KPIs.
  • Coordinate patient prescription drug coverage with insurers, physician offices, and healthcare professionals; prepare submissions and related paperwork; implement Financial Means Test and post-funding pharmacy processes.
  • Report Adverse Events to assigned units/departments and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a Team Lead to all Reimbursement Specialists within the program by beign a resource for them;
  • Daily and ongoing communication with Program Manager / Associate Program Manager for new and existing projects;
  • Ongoing evaluation of internal reimbursement processes;
  • Reimbursement process and protocol development and maintenance as assigned by the Program Manager / Associate Program Manager;
  • Implementation of processes and protocols with the Program Manager / Associate Program Manager;
  • Implement departmental KPIs as directed by the Program Manager / Associate Program Manager;
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental KPI activities and provide report to the Program Manager / Associate Program Manager;
  • Be responsible to for closing manager schedule / shifts
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects required in order to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients;
  • Coordinate cases with insurance companies, physician’ offices and healthcare professionals in order to maximize reimbursement solutions
  • Coordinate documents, submissions and all related paperwork to insurance companies, public/federal funding programs;
  • Implement Financial Means Test as required in an effort to maximize patient’s prescription drug coverage;
  • Coordinate pharmacy processes required once funding has been obtained; and
  • Acquire in depth knowledge of public/private and federal funding mechanisms.
  • Responsible to report all Adverse Events to the assigned units/departments
  • The Senior Reimbursement Specialist will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare-related industries;
  • Project management experience is an asset;
  • University Degree in a related industry;
  • Professional / courteous / efficient telephone manner;
  • Bilingual (French & English) considered an asset;
  • Experience in health care and customer service, an asset;
  • Experience with reimbursement programs also an asset;
  • Experience in the insurance industry is also an asset;
