Roles & Responsibilities

3-5 years medical record experience, preferably in an acute care, computerized environment; 2-3 years demonstrated coding experience
Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT4, HCPCS, and applicable DRG grouper coding schemes
Proficient computer skills, including experience with clinical information systems for accessing health information in an electronic environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to distinguish colors to identify medical numbers

Requirements:

Perform varied and complex diagnostic and procedural coding for accurate DRG, severity of illness, and risk of mortality assignments
Evaluate rare procedures and complex conditions to ensure accurate coding and optimal reimbursement
Collaborate closely with physicians and documentation improvement nurses, supported by our innovative specialty coding model, to improve documentation quality
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT4, HCPCS, and DRG grouper coding schemes to ensure coding accuracy and compliance

Senior Medical Data Analyst

CCS or CCS-P or CPC or ART/RHIT
