Position: General Accountant – Cash Applications Specialist

Position Overview:

Support the finance team by owning the cash application process for distributor and wholesale customers, ensuring the timely and accurate application of payments, deductions, and adjustments, and freeing US-based staff to focus on analysis and higher-value work.

Responsibilities:

• Apply distributor and wholesale payments to customer accounts in ERP (NetSuite or similar)
• Review remittance advice and backup to apply cash, credits, and deductions accurately
• Reconcile payment discrepancies, short-pays, and chargebacks with internal teams and customers
• Track, document, and help resolve trade deductions and other offsets
• Maintain accurate AR subledger records and support customer account reconciliations
• Prepare periodic AR and deduction reports for management
• Support month-end close activities (reconciliations, schedules, journal entries as needed)
• Assist with other general accounting tasks as requested (e.g., support for audits, ad hoc analyses)

Requirements:

• 3+ years in accounting, AR, or cash applications (distributor / wholesale experience a plus)
• Experience in processing high volumes of payments and deductions
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, close attention to detail
• Good Excel / Google Sheets skills
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work US business hours and meet tight deadlines

Nice to Have:

• Experience in CPG, food & beverage, retail, or e-commerce
• Familiarity with distributor deduction types and trade spend
