  • Identify product failures and performance issues; support root cause investigations with additional data; assist with Gage R&R studies to assess measurement repeatability and test method consistency.
  • Mentor contract manufacturers to conduct testing per Dymo procedures and verify testing content.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Test Lab Technician is responsible for performing hands-on testing and validation of direct thermal and thermal transfer printers. This role supports new product development and existing product improvements by running tests, collecting data, documenting results, and helping ensure products meet quality and performance standards. The technician works closely with engineers and quality teams to execute test plans and report findings.

 

JOB DUTIES:

Test Fixtures Setup:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment and test fixtures.
  • Perform routine calibration checks and basic maintenance of test equipment.
  • Ensure all testing activities follow company quality standards and safety procedures

 

Test Execution and Data Collecting:

  • Perform mechanical and functional testing of direct thermal and thermal transfer printers.
  • Test printer communication interfaces including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (BLE), and USB to determine mechanical failures.
  • Follow defined test procedures and test plans for new product development and sustaining projects.
  • Collect, record, and organize test data accurately.
  • Create clear test reports summarizing results, issues found, and observations.

 

Debugging:

  • Identify product failures, performance issues, and inconsistencies during testing.
  • Support root cause investigations by gathering additional data as needed.
  • Assist with Gage R&R studies to evaluate measurement repeatability and test method consistency.

 

Monitor the testing of Contract Manufacturer:

  • Mentor CM to conduct the testing by following Dymo procedure.
  • Check the testing content

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in engineering technology, electronics, mechanical technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in product testing, lab testing, or quality assurance preferred.
