JOB SUMMARY: 


The Accounts Receivable Associate plays a critical role in supporting the company’s cash flow and mitigating credit risk through consistent, professional collection activities. This position is responsible for managing accounts receivable and collections by engaging clients via phone and email to follow up on outstanding balances, resolve invoice and account inquiries, and ensure timely payment in accordance with contractual terms. 


Key responsibilities include issuing account statements and collection notices, resending or clarifying invoices, researching billing discrepancies or disputes, and escalating delinquent accounts when appropriate. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain professional client relationships while driving resolution. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Maintain regular, professional contact with clients to support timely payment and preserve positive working relationships  
  • Perform daily collection activities via phone and email on outstanding balances  
  • Investigate and resolve invoice or account discrepancies; provide invoice copies or clarification as needed  
  • Prepare and distribute monthly account statements and collection notices  
  • Review aging and monthly AR reports and follow up on delinquent accounts  
  • Assess accounts for escalation and coordinate referral to external counsel when appropriate  
  • File and monitor bankruptcy proofs of claim  
  • Identify and promptly communicate potential payment risks or issues to management  
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned 


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:  

  • Solid understanding of best practices in accounts receivable and business to business collections  
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess complex situations, analyze information, and develop practical solutions in environments with limited standard procedures  
  • Experience with reporting, research, and account analysis  
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-velocity, performance driven environment 

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required  
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in high-volume, business to business collections  
  • Experience with Clio and NetSuite preferred  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word  
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and collaborate across all levels of the organization 

LOCATION:  

  • This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones?
