Job description

This is a remote position.

Berkeley Payment is seeking a high-performing individual to join our high-caliber Sales and Client Strategy team. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, driven professional who has a proven track record of success in B2B enterprise account management but is hungry for more challenges and opportunities to grow.

In this role, you will own, protect, and drive the expansion of our most valuable enterprise clients across key verticals, including Fintech enablement, banking solutions, promotion/loyalty/incentives, Gig Pay/Earn Wage Access, and Real-time payments. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, a highly-motivated team player with high social intelligence, and a natural relationship builder. You understand the value of deep account mapping, multi-threading, consultative cross-selling, and executing Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) for C-suite stakeholders. If you are highly driven and value the benefit of being part of an agile, growing team in the embedded finance space, we want to talk to you.

Job Description

As a Key Account Manager, you will lead and participate in all aspects of the client lifecycle—from driving core product adoption to closing new, margin-rich expansion business within your portfolio. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Account Strategy & Retention: Develop and execute rigorous, customized account plans for our top-tier clients to meet and exceed Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) and Net Revenue Retention (NRR) goals.

  • Whitespace Pipeline Generation: Build a robust expansion pipeline by proactively identifying "whitespace" opportunities within your existing accounts, cross-selling new offerings, and capturing additional payment flows.

  • Multi-Threading & Penetration: Identify and deeply qualify new business opportunities within designated enterprise accounts by building durable relationships across multiple departments (Product, Finance, Compliance, Engineering) to ensure Berkeley is permanently embedded in their tech stack.

  • Consultative Selling & SBRs: Deliver compelling presentations and lead highly strategic Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) with senior executives (CTOs, CFOs, COOs) to prove ongoing ROI and pitch platform expansions.

  • Forecasting & Analytics: Analyze your portfolio's health and provide accurate, real-time insights using our CRM system for executive revenue forecasting and churn mitigation.

  • Market Expertise: Keep strictly up-to-date with our services, industry trends, and our competitors, representing Berkeley Payment positively while positioning our unique competitive advantages to existing clients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you MUST meet the following core competencies and qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 5 years of relevant, highly successful B2B enterprise account management or complex sales experience, specifically in the payments space.

  • Technical Acumen: Strong knowledge and understanding of payments: money movement, card issuing, regulations, API infrastructure, etc…

  • Sales Approach: Utilizing CRM software, account mapping strategies, and LinkedIn as part of a disciplined expansion process.

  • Consultative Approach: Strong consultative sales and retention skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, retain, and influence C-level and senior executives effectively.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a natural inclination for upselling and high social intelligence.

  • Work Ethic: Motivated self-starter who is dedicated, resourceful, and operates with the highest level of integrity. Research-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Market Knowledge: Experience managing major accounts in the U.S. and Canadian markets is highly advantageous.

Benefits

We believe in rewarding top performers who drive real value.

  • Competitive Compensation: A strong base salary of $80,000.00 per year, paired with a generous, performance-driven commission structure tied to portfolio growth and retention.

  • Healthcare: Comprehensive health, dental, and extended health care insurance benefits available.

  • Flexibility: A fully remote work environment (Monday to Friday schedule - EST) allowing you to work from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

  • Culture: The opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking company that values innovation, bespoke solutions, and global capabilities in the rapidly expanding embedded payments space.
