  • Facilitate PI planning events and sprint ceremonies; guide teams to deliver high-quality products while promoting continuous improvement
  • Identify and remove impediments; track team performance metrics (velocity, burn-down) and report risks and progress to program leadership
  • Manage product quality, releases, and delivery; maintain lightweight planning artifacts like an Agile Product Roadmap; assist Product Owner with prioritization and risk management

Our Health Engineering Systems (HES) team works side by side with customers to articulate a vision for success, and then make it happen. We know success doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a seasoned Scrum Master who will be a key driver to make this happen.  

  

We are seeking an energetic Senior Scrum Master with Agile SAFe experience to facilitate and guide teams to deliver high-quality products that meets user needs. You will interface with Product Owners and RTE/Delivery leads to ensure SAFe methodologies are followed for project execution. You will be working on a mission critical software program whose goal is to consolidate, modernize, and enhance a suite of applications that supports Medicaid.    

  

Responsibilities:  

  • Apply Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and work closely with the release train engineer (RTE), product owner, scrum team, and other stakeholders such as product end users  

  • Guide teams to deliver high-quality products, improve team efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.  

  • Work with teams to identify and remove impediments that may hinder their progress   

  • Track and monitor team performance metrics, such as velocity, burn-down charts, to ensure optimal productivity.  

  • Provider regular reports on team performance, risks, successes and failures to the program leadership team   

  • Facilitate PI planning events and working session meetings to discuss scope, schedule and requirements with product owners  

  • Help the Product Owner with prioritization, risk management, and scope  

  • Manage product quality, releases, and delivery  

  • Manage lightweight, living planning documents, like an Agile Product Roadmap  

  • Conduct all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, daily Scrum Meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives  

  

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree  

  • Minimum of six (6) years experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Product Manager for a software development team.  

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance  

  • Candidate must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and work must be performed in the US  

  • Must have lived in the US 3 full years out of the last 5 years  

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field  

  • Master’s degree preferred  

  • Hands-on experience leading multiple Scrum teams in a variety of contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)  

  • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM) preferred  

  • Knowledge of other Agile methodologies like Kanban  

  • Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery , Automated Testing  

  • Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and the Atlassian suite  

  • Experience using JIRA's Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement  

  • Knowledge of Human Centered Design approach for developing digital services  

  

Professional Skills:  

  • Hands-on experience leading multiple Scrum teams in a variety of contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)  

  • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc. Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM) preferred  

  • Knowledge of other Agile methodologies like Kanban  

  • Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery , Automated Testing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Highly skilled in team facilitation, conflict resolution, implementing best practices, team empowerment and creating a culture of transparency

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$98,614.00 - $167,644.00
