Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary 

The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supervising a team of accountants. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop a team. 

Responsibilities 

• Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger accounting functions including but not limited to Cash, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Leases, Compensation Accounting (Payroll, SBC, PTO, Bonus accruals, etc.). 

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. 

• Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations 

• Analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports for management. 

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. 

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of general ledger accountants. 

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. 

• Participate in the external audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations. 

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

• Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-3 years in a management or supervisory role. 

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. 

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of the organization. 

• Proven ability to lead and develop a team. 

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
