Roles & Responsibilities

  • Degree in Business, Management, Sales, or Marketing, or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional European language (German) is advantageous.
  • 10+ years of high-value sponsorship sales experience (ideally in sports) with a proven track record of pitching, negotiating, and closing multi-million-dollar sponsorships.
  • Proficiency in sales pipeline management and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and a strong sponsor network with excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and international perspective.

Requirements:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve sponsorship revenue goals and secure high-value sponsorships (multi-million-dollar, multi-year), primarily in the US with support in EMEA.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue potential sponsors aligned with Formula One, building and maintaining internal and external relationships and managing the end-to-end sales process, including proposals and negotiations.
  • Lead negotiations and contract terms for sponsorships, create tailored proposals and presentations, and collaborate with research/BI teams to monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Manage the sponsorship sales pipeline and reporting using CRM tools, leverage existing networks and outreach to connect with decision-makers, and provide routine updates to Legends leadership.

LEGENDS & AUDI F1 

Legends and Audi F1 have entered into a 5-year partnership. Legends will lead to partnership acquisition and will be securing multi-million-dollar, multi-year term deals across the globe. 

 

THE ROLE  

The Director of Partnerships at Audi F1 is based in the US and is responsible for identifying and securing high-value sponsorship agreements for Audi F1, on behalf of Legends, primarily within the US region but supporting efforts in EMEA.  Leveraging your track record of negotiating and closing sponsorship sales, the role will require high-impact revenue acquisition on a multi-million-dollar, multi-year basis. Following and leading on sales process will be second nature, as will negotiating nine-figure sponsorship agreements.

The role will report to the VP Europe, Global Partnerships - Audi, and have a dotted line to the project executive leadership team.  The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for sales and business development, excellent communication skills, positive enthusiasm for team building and collaboration, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Lead the development and implementation of sales strategies to achieve sponsorship revenue goals 

  • Lead the identification and prioritization potential sponsors based on their fit with Formula One 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally by providing excellent customer service and communication. 

  • Lead the negotiation of sponsorship contracts and ensure all terms are clearly defined and agreed by all parties 

  • Lead the creation of custom sponsorship proposals and presentations that are tailored to the sponsor’s needs and interests 

  • Work with the research and BI teams to understand market trends and competitor activity to ensure the potential for revenue acquisition is maximized  

  • Leverage an existing network, relationships, as well as cold outreach to connect with decision makers at key brands and agencies  

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure a collaborative sales process, timely reporting where relevant 

  • Engage in weekly team meetings and support Legends senior-level stakeholders by providing routine sales updates 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

  • Degree in Business, Management, Sales, or Marketing, or equivalent, required – MBA preferred 

  • Fluency in English is essential.  Additional fluency in another European language, particularly German, will be seen as an advantage  

  • Ten (10) plus years of high-value sponsorship sales experience, ideally in the sports industry  

  • A proven track record and excellence in pitching, negotiating, and closing high-value sponsorship agreements, in addition to exceeding sales targets 

  • Adept in sales pipeline management, reporting and leveraging CRM tools (i.e. Salesforce) 

  • A strong network and relationships with potential sponsors 

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills 

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and leadership abilities 

  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices 

  • Analytical mindset for identifying sponsor needs and ROI for all stakeholders 

  • International outlook and ability to work in fast paced environment with diverse cultures 

 

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary range of $100,000 - $115,000 plus incentive potential, commensurate with experience and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
