  • Plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across mobile and social channels (Meta, TikTok, Google, and beyond) with emphasis on creative development, testing, ROAS, and profitable scaling
  • Lead a cross-functional growth team (marketers, product managers, designers) to achieve profitable growth, fostering clarity, momentum, and a culture of learning and high performance
  • Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools across acquisition, creative, and lifecycle to drive AI-powered growth and raise team fluency

Job description

Marco Polo is a video chat app created for one simple and significant purpose—to help people feel close. 

We're currently seeking a Head of Growth Marketing at Marco Polo. This role is primarily focused on Marco Polo Circles — a new, fast growing offering from Marco Polo that matches people based on life stage and interests, helping them build real friendships through video messages on their own schedule. This is a rare opportunity to own growth end-to-end for a product that is genuinely changing how people make friends — and to do it at a profitable, purpose-driven consumer company. We're looking for a seasoned, hands-on leader who can both set the strategy and roll up their sleeves — someone who has grown consumer apps and treats AI not as a tool but as a fundamental shift in how great marketing gets done.


In this position, you will:
  • Own the full growth funnel for Circles: Paid and organic acquisition, conversion, activation, retention, referrals and upgrades . You'll develop and iterate on market strategy, develop and iterate execution plans, and lead your team to deliver. You'll also support broader Marco Polo growth initiatives as relevant.

  • Drive paid marketing performance: Plan, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across mobile and social channels (Meta, TikTok, Google, and beyond), with deep fluency in creative development and testing, ROAS optimization and profitable scaling.

  • Lead a  cross-functional growth team:  You'll manage a mix of marketers, product managers, and designers — all unified around a single charter: profitable growth. You create clarity, build momentum, and foster a culture of learning and high performance. 

  • Drive AI-powered growth capabilities: Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools across acquisition, creative, and lifecycle — bringing new capabilities to the team before they become obvious and raising everyone's fluency as you go.


  • Ideally, you have:
  • 5+ years of growth or performance marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role at a consumer company.

  • Deep experience in paid user acquisition across mobile and social platforms, including strong command of mobile measurement and attribution.

  • A genuine, ongoing obsession with AI in marketing — not a past familiarity, but an active practice. You're consistently ahead of the curve, and you've demonstrated it by changing how your team works, not just how you personally work.

  • Strong analytical skills: you're comfortable in dashboards and can make decisions grounded in data and based on evolving probability assessment of parallel hypotheses rather than gut alone.

  • Experience marketing a subscription product and understanding of the economics of LTV, payback periods, and sustainable growth.

  • A track record of driving results with lean resources — you know how to prioritize ruthlessly and move fast without burning people out.

  • Compensation: Our cash compensation package is made of up two components - base pay and equity in the company. The target salary for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including knowledge, skills, and experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
