Description of Work

NCDHHS-DMHDDSUS is seeking a Program Consultant to manage projects and provide subject matter expertise related to the unique intersection of mental health, developmental disabilities and substance use services and the justice system. This is a remote position with occasional travel.

The selected candidate for this role will:

Develop, coordinate, and manage projects to expand and enhance mental health treatment services for individuals with justice-involvement;
Work alongside DMHDDSUS leaders to implement the strategic plan;
Assist with the development of program standards and performance requirements; Apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, and manipulation to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities;
Serve as a liaison with other state agencies, service providers, advocacy groups and other stakeholders to enhance services in assigned area(s).
Provide training and/or technical assistance to providers.
Projects and assigned areas may include reentry services for individuals with serious mental illness, mental health initiatives and substance use disorder treatment for individuals who are justice involved, treatment alternatives to incarceration, community-based services, and other related topics.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $55,221 - $96,639

Recruitment Range: $55,221 - $90,000

This position is funded in part through federal funds.
