Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of a high-volume, fast-paced trade printing facility, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, safety, and team leadership. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with deep experience in print manufacturing, particularly within a trade printing environment where turnaround times, accuracy, and cost-efficiency are critical. The Plant Manager will lead and coordinate all departments within the plant, including prepress, pressroom, finishing, digital, shipping/receiving, and maintenance, working closely with senior leadership to meet company objectives and client expectations.
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
Salary Range: $105,000 To 130,000 Annually
Compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Plant Operations Management
- Plans, directs, and controls activities of supervisors, department leads and hourly employees in order to meet overall objectives
- Conducts staff meetings and keeps everyone informed of company and departmental goals, whilst setting & monitoring clear objectives to be attained
- Communicates methods, policies, and procedures to managers, supervisors, team leaders and employees
- Ensures that duties, responsibilities, accountability, and authority of all direct reports are defined and understood
- Coordinates plant work with all departments to ensure jobs get completed according to client specifications
- Reviews plant goals and performance metrics to ensure plant performance meets and exceeds company’s key performance indicators
- Manages operating and capital budgets proactively, ensuring interfaces with all plant management groups, including customer service, quality, materials, finance, EHS and human resources in order to meet production, quality, and compliance requirements
- Proactively involved with unsatisfied customers during critical and high-profile situations
- Identifies continuous improvement goals in quality, safety, scheduling, and personnel compliance for the organization and plays the key leadership role in attaining those goals
- Develops and implements consistent department procedures
- Anticipates, investigates analysis, evaluate, and creates process methods for improvement based on workflow projections and future process needs
- Implements and manages cost reduction and profit improvement programs
- Ensures the use of ethical business practices in dealing with customers, employees, vendors, suppliers, and the community
- Participates in corporate initiatives as directed, and performs other related duties as assigned/requested
- Performs as a resource for the external customers and marketing personnel by providing expert advice and technical support as required
- Provide thorough training to employee including but not limited to new hires, transfers, and newly promoted employees as needed
Safety Management
- Ensures that all safety policies and procedures are followed, monitoring compliance and incidents
- Actively drives safety culture and safety performance management including incident/accident investigations and identifying opportunities for training interventions
- Wears/uses all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Records any and all workplace hazards, work related injuries, illnesses and/or near misses and works with team members to swiftly rectify and resolve
- Participates as member of Plant and Corporate Safety Team
People Management
- Sets the standards for performance assessment and feedback, effective communication, promoting positive morale and supporting team effectiveness
- Responsible for maintaining good communications and consistent policy application to employees on all shifts including positive counseling when necessary
- Assesses employee talent and capabilities, including issuing employee performance reviews
- Determines and provides technical and job-related education interventions
- Instigates functional cross-training opportunities to drive employee development and skill competency
- Understands and responds promptly to employee needs and concerns
Quality Management
- Maintains quality control at a level that meets or exceeds production requirements
- Insures consistency of employee quality levels throughout facility
- Maintains training in accordance with quality guidelines
- Other duties may be assigned as needed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in: Business Management or Manufacturing operations, preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) – twelve (12) years progressive experience as an operational P&L Manager in a fast-paced print manufacturing environment
- Five (5) years’ experience of P&L/budgetary management
- Background in lean manufacturing with some professional training/qualifications attained
- Demonstrable experience of improving plant performance without any impact on safety and safety performance
- Conversant with operations finance, performance, and quality metrics
