  • 2 years of experience with API interfaces to integrate or replace legacy services and improve integration flexibility using Tibco tools (BW, BWCE, EMS) and with GraphQL, Apollo, and ATOM
  • 2 years building and securing RESTful APIs for card management operations and deploying containerized applications in OnPrem Cloud environments using Git, Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
  • Experience with security and compliance including OAuth2, TLS/mTLS, JWT, vault-based secrets management to ensure PCI 4 and PII compliance; plus API performance and incident monitoring using Splunk and Datadog

Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Engineer, Card Management (multiple positions) in Chicago, IL.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Optimize software API performance and reliability to ensure significant uptime and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the scalability and availability of the Card Management API ecosystem enabling integration with internal banking systems and external partners, streamlining card lifecycle operations.
  • Monitor production and test environments to resolve incidents within SLA and conduct postmortems to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct new improvement projects by engaging in all phases of the Secure SDLC to deliver Account Status Change by CPN, Product Variable Inquiry, Business Card Relationships, and Customer Account Details.
  • Support APIs by remediating vulnerabilities in Tibco BWCE and Spring Boot services, enforcing LDAP-based access controls, and handling Application IDs (NHID) password remediation to safeguard sensitive data, reduce compliance risks, and maintain customer trust.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive API assets to support cross-functional teams, reduce integration time, minimize errors, and improve developer efficiency and onboarding.
  • Implement and maintain secure and compliant infrastructure to ensure data protection using security protocols with vaults.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology and 2 years in a Software Developer, or related, occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must include 2 years of experience with each of the following:

API interfaces to integrate or replace legacy services and improve integration flexibility using Tibco Integration Tools including BW, BWCE, EMS, GraphQL, Apollo, and ATOM; Build and secure RESTful APIs for card management operations and SCM to deploy the containerized application in the OnPrem Cloud Env using Git, Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher; Mainframe systems to Postgres using IBM Zos, zOS Outbound APIs, HEC, and LUCAS framework to reduce resource usage; OAuth2, TLS, mTLS, and JWT security protocols and vault-based secrets management to ensure PCI 4 and PII compliance; and API performance and reliability, manage incidents, and ensure significant uptime using Splunk and Datadog.
