  • Research and develop briefing materials for stakeholder meetings on topics related to Corporate Diplomacy and international trade, economics, or foreign policy
  • Prospecting and researching potential funders for Meridian’s business development pipeline; maintain information in Salesforce for donor engagement and event management
  • Complete organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and perform other duties as assigned

Salary: 17.95 HOUR


Program/Internship Description:

The Meridian Center for Corporate Diplomacy team supports the management, program implementation, and training of all Corporate partners and oversees corporate fundraising at Meridian International Center, including among the Meridian Corporate Council. The Intern is an integral member of the team and is involved in all the projects of the Corporate Diplomacy Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of Center for Corporate Diplomacy programs – such as Global Business Briefings and the Corporate Diplomacy Global Leaders Program - and events through assembling materials, creating thematic/topical briefs, and writing summaries for the Meridian website. 
  • Research and develop briefing materials for upcoming stakeholder meetings, on topics related to Corporate Diplomacy, and any relevant topic pertaining to international trade, economics, and/or foreign policy. 
  • Prospecting and research into potential funders for Meridian’s business development pipeline.
  • Maintain information in Salesforce database to support donor engagement, event management, and corporate donor prospecting. 
  • Completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be/have: 

  • An undergraduate or graduate student in international studies or a related field, or the equivalent in experience 
  • A highly motivated self-starter with superb communication and organizational skills, and high attention to detail 
  • A team player with the ability to follow through on long-term projects and to work independently 
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world

Applicants are required to: 

  • Commit 20-29 hours per week to the internship 
  • Be fluent in verbal and written English
  • Be proficient in the MS Office Suite
  • Maintain residency in the DC, MD, or VA area
