Overview:
The Loan Operations Commercial Loan Closer Team Lead will play a critical role in the commercial lending process by collaborating with Commercial Relationship Managers (CRM) and Loan Officer Assistants (LOA) while overseeing the closing process for all new, renewed, and modified C&I and Real Estate Secured loans. The Commercial Loan Specialist is responsible for completing all due diligence associated with the satisfaction of approval conditions prior to closing. The position will be the key point of communication and proactively interact with the CRM, LOA, Underwriters, Closing Attorney, Doc Prep, and other partners to minimize the time to close a loan once final approval has been issued. The CLCTL will be a player/coach and will perform a wide variety of functions related to ensuring all approval conditions and due diligence items are cleared for the preparation and processing of loan documents for closing while coaching, mentoring, and training a small team of CLC.
What You’ll Do:
- Review approved credit request to identify required pre-close conditions and due diligence requirements
- Order and/or review required due diligence requirements including, but not limited to, the following:
- Title Commitments / Title Searches
- UCC searches
- Flood determinations
- Proof of adequate and acceptable insurance
- Surveys
- Entity documents
- Evaluation or real estate appraisal
- Environmental Questionnaire or Assessment
- Good Standing Certificates
- Beneficial Ownership
- Monitor and confirm receipt of all due diligence items and review to confirm loans documents can be created accurately and the Bank’s lien can be perfected.
- Responsible for due diligence and closing activities on commercial loans and ensuring tasks are executed in compliance with Bank policy, regulatory law, interbank Service Level Agreements and investor guidelines when applicable.
- Submit loan to internal Doc Prep team to request preparation of loan closing documentation.
- Engage approved attorney, representing the bank, to prepare loan closing document and/or close loan when applicable.
- Coordinate effort to establish a closing date and time with all parties concerned including attorneys, title companies, customer, CRM, and LOA.
- Review draft closing documents and closing / settlement statement for accuracy and confirm agreement with loan approval. Facilitate corrections as needed.
- Ensure all due diligence information is properly documented
- Provide “Clear to Close” upon confirmation that all approval conditions and due diligence requirements have been satisfied. Takes appropriate action to resolve deficiencies and escalate when necessary.
- Review executed documents for accurate and complete signatures and forward to Loan Servicing for booking
- Confirm all supporting documentation related to the deal is loaded to CreditLens and /or submitted for imaging to Director
- Assist with initial loan disbursement that occurs at time of closing; acting as second required signature
- Coach, mentor and perform disciplinary action as required for direct reports.
- Proactively identify problems, opportunities, and operational changes that require communication and coordinate with other CLCTL and Commercial Loan Closing Manager as needed
- Continually monitor performance and effectiveness of team in alignment with departmental goals
- Adhere to Corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures as prescribed.

Requirements For Success:
- 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry, commercial loan experience preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Working knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills without direct guidance
- Demonstrate strong organization and time management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet multiple deadlines.

Pay Range:
USD $49,972.00 - USD $76,958.00 /Yr.
