  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the retirement plan or related financial services field.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical and regulatory materials.
  • Proficiency with FT William software (Compliance and Documents) and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe; experience with a Relius-to-FT William transition preferred.

Requirements:

  • Plan Administration and Compliance: perform day-to-day retirement plan administration, including data entry of new participant enrollments and census data input and validation, and complete required compliance testing such as ADP/ACP testing, general nondiscrimination testing, top-heavy testing, and new comparability allocation projections.
  • Interpret Plan Documents: interpret retirement plan document provisions to ensure accurate administration and compliance.
  • Trust Accounting and Reporting: perform trust accounting functions related to retirement plans; prepare Form 5500 filings and required schedules; prepare Summary Annual Reports for plan sponsors and participants.
  • Client Communication and Collaboration: communicate directly with clients and their professional advisors regarding plan administration matters; prepare participant distribution packages, loan documentation, Forms 1099-R as required, and work with team in a remote/multi-office environment; assist with department and firm projects as needed.

As a Senior Retirement Plan Administrator, you will play a key role in the third-party administration of defined contribution retirement plans. This position involves significant client contact, technical plan administration work, and collaboration with internal team members across offices. This role is open to onsite, hybrid, or remote work.


A Day in the Life of a Retirement Plan Administrator…

Plan Administration & Compliance

  • Perform day-to-day retirement plan administration duties, including data entry of new participant enrollments and census data input and validation.
  • Complete required compliance testing such as ADP/ACP testing, general nondiscrimination testing, top-heavy testing, and new comparability allocation projections.
  • Interpret retirement plan document provisions to ensure accurate administration and compliance.

Trust Accounting & Reporting

  • Perform trust accounting functions related to retirement plans.
  • Prepare Form 5500 filings and required schedules.
  • Prepare Summary Annual Reports for plan sponsors and participants.

Client Communication & Support

  • Communicate directly with clients and their professional advisors regarding plan administration matters.
  • Prepare participant distribution packages, calculate loan limits, and prepare loan documentation.
  • Prepare Forms 1099-R as required.

Team Collaboration & Special Projects

  • Assist with department and firm projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Work collaboratively with team members while contributing effectively in a remote and multi-office environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the retirement plan or related financial services field.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical and regulatory materials.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage own client book of business while also working collaboratively with other team members to support department and firm growth.
  • Proficiency in FT William software, including Compliance and Documents, strongly preferred; Experience with a Relius to FT William transition a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe
  • QKA and QKC designations preferred but not required; willingness to obtain if not already achieved. Comparable designations from non ASPPA sources will be considered.
  • Business development experience a plus
  • Adaptable, willing to learn, and able to contribute effectively in a remote team environment.
