Job description

Description

ABOUT GO

We've been building businesses on Amazon for more than 15 years and we continue to be on the forefront as Amazon platforms evolve. We're uncomfortable calling ourselves experts — since Amazon is always changing, we're constantly adapting — but the breadth of our knowledge is vast, and our team's diverse experiences elevate our partners' businesses. We're marketers, advocates, data scientists, supply chain managers, Amazonians, advertisers and merchants. But most importantly, we're brand builders. Let's build brands together.

POSITION OVERVIEW

GO is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking Director of Technology & Partnerships to own all things technology at GO. As our agency evolves away from a proprietary data warehouse toward a best-in-class ecosystem of third-party technology providers, this role will be the connective tissue between our internal teams and the platforms powering our business — spanning ad tech, data warehousing, reporting, AI, and measurement solutions.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology strategy, vendor partnership management, and cross-functional enablement. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the eCommerce and digital marketing technology landscape, a natural instinct for evaluating emerging tools, and the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into practical business value for internal teams and clients alike.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Strategy & Vision

  • Help define and own GO's overarching technology strategy — establishing a clear vision for how third-party tools and platforms enable team efficiency, client performance, and business growth.
  • Serve as the technology thought leader for the organization, staying ahead of the landscape to identify where innovation is happening and when GO should adopt, pilot, or transition providers.
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that aligns with GO's evolving service offerings across ad tech, AI, reporting, data warehousing, and measurement.
  • Champion the shift to a third-party technology model, driving organization-wide adoption and helping teams get maximum value from the platforms GO uses.

Third-Party Technology Partnership Management

  • Own and manage GO's relationships with all third-party technology providers, including ad tech platforms, data warehousing solutions, reporting tools, and measurement partners.
  • Ensure GO's development priorities are visible and represented on partner roadmaps — proactively advocating for features, integrations, and enhancements that serve GO's business needs.
  • Lead evaluation, piloting, and contracting processes for new technology tools, including negotiating agreements and managing vendor performance.
  • Monitor the competitive and emerging technology landscape, assessing when a change in provider or addition of a new tool is warranted.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of each partner's capabilities, limitations, and roadmap to serve as a trusted internal advisor.

Internal Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary internal resource for technology questions, needs, and escalations — ensuring the GO team can confidently leverage the tools available to them.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams across account management, analytics, and media to understand their technology needs across ad tech, AI, and reporting/analysis.
  • Translate internal business needs into prioritized requirements for technology partners, bridging the gap between team workflows and platform capabilities.
  • Support training, onboarding, and documentation so teams can effectively use the technology ecosystem.
  • Work directly with the Director of Ad Product to support technology integrations for new Amazon ad products and APIs through GO’s third-party partners, ensuring our platform capabilities keep pace with the evolving Amazon advertising ecosystem.
  • Partner with the Director of Measurement & Insights to ensure our reporting and analytics infrastructure meets both internal and client-facing needs, providing the analyst team with appropriate data availability to support enhanced measurement across the organization, and working with third-party providers to close data gaps and enable robust measurement solutions.

AI Strategy & Implementation

  • Help define GO's AI strategy — identifying where AI tools and automation can meaningfully improve team efficiency, client outcomes, and competitive differentiation.
  • Evaluate and pilot third-party AI platforms, working with partners to integrate AI-powered capabilities into GO's existing workflows.
  • Ensure responsible, compliant use of AI tools, with appropriate attention to data privacy and governance considerations.
  • Stay current on advancements in AI relevant to eCommerce, digital marketing, and agency operations.

Team Leadership & IT Ownership

  • Build, manage, and develop a team of technical product managers and/or engineers, as needed, to support the execution of GO's technology roadmap.
  • Lead GO's IT function, including infrastructure, systems administration, and day-to-day technology operations.
  • Manage technology budgets, ensuring investments are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Establish a high-performance team culture grounded in curiosity, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology strategy, vendor management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Deep familiarity with the eCommerce and digital marketing technology landscape — including ad tech platforms, data warehousing, reporting tools, and measurement solutions.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing strategic technology partnerships, including contract negotiation and roadmap advocacy.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI tools and platforms in a commercial environment.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business needs for technical partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned to business strategy.
  • Experience managing technical teams (product managers, engineers, or technical program managers).
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and responsible AI principles.
  • A natural curiosity for emerging technology and a comfort with navigating ambiguity as tools and landscapes evolve.
  • Travel Required for this role is up to 15%
