  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work with two years of directly related experience; or Master’s degree in social work with one year of directly related experience; or Master’s degree in a human services field with two years of directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with three years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Verified three years of work experience as a high-performing individual contributor in a related field, with exposure to leadership/management through project management, coordination, training, or similar roles
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Requirements:

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and support to Licensing and Training Specialists to ensure foster home recruitment, licensing, compliance, and support activities meet regulatory standards and Thompson’s CARE principles
  • Oversee workflows, monitor performance and outcomes, and provide coaching and supervision to ensure licensing activities are completed accurately and timely in a trauma-informed manner
  • Review licensing and re-licensing status reports, review foster home files for accuracy and compliance, support recruitment strategy and pipeline management, address barriers delaying licensing timelines, and collaborate with program leadership and system partners to maintain continuity of foster family support
  • Assist with scheduling coverage, respond to urgent licensing issues, support staff development, and participate in operational or quality review meetings; work in a community-based or hybrid setting with occasional evenings or weekends as needed

What will you do as the Program Supervisor, Licensing/Foster Care?

  • As a Licensing Supervisor in the Foster Care department, you will provide leadership, oversight, and support to Licensing and Training Specialists while ensuring foster home recruitment, licensing, compliance, and support activities meet regulatory standards and organizational expectations. You will oversee workflows, monitor performance and outcomes, provide coaching and supervision, and ensure that licensing activities are completed accurately, timely, and in a trauma-informed manner consistent with Thompson’s CARE principles. 
  • A typical day as a Licensing Supervisor will include reviewing licensing and re-licensing status reports, conducting individual supervision and coaching with Licensing and Training Specialists, reviewing foster home files for accuracy and compliance, supporting recruitment strategy and pipeline management, addressing barriers impacting licensing timelines, and collaborating with program leadership and system partners to ensure continuity of foster family support. You may also assist with scheduling coverage, responding to urgent licensing issues, supporting staff development, and participating in operational or quality review meetings. 
  • As a Licensing Supervisor, this role is typically community-based or hybrid, requiring flexibility to support staff and foster families during some evenings or occasional weekends as needed for orientations, trainings, or recruitment activities, while maintaining standard business hours for supervision, meetings, and compliance responsibilities.

Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License. 
  • Meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program(s) they lead. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience;  or
  • Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or
  • Master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related  experience; or 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related  experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Verified 3 years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in a related field.  
  • Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or  actual leadership positions. 
  • Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader.  
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
