Job Summary:

Nationwide Marketing Group is seeking a Manager of Software Development to join our Product Data Management & Operations team. 

The Software Development Manager (AI/Data Platforms) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams that include software developers, data engineers, and Java-based web scraping engineers. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and strategic delivery ownership, with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled data acquisition, intelligent web scraping, and scalable platform development. This leader will drive execution across multiple technical domains while building high-performing teams, defining technical direction, and ensuring delivery excellence. The manager will align engineering efforts with business objectives, own delivery outcomes, establish operational excellence, and ensure scalable, secure, and compliant systems. This role requires deep experience in AI-driven web scraping, large-scale data acquisition, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms (GCP, AWS), along with strong people leadership, organizational development, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Own technical delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives and platforms 
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical oversight without micromanaging 
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable 
  • Drive consistent engineering practices, standards, and processes 
  • Balance technical excellence with delivery velocity 
  • Oversee platform stability, performance, and operational reliability
  • AI Web Scraping & Data Acquisition Leadership
  • Design and implement AI/ML-enabled workflows and data-driven solutions
  • Own &Lead AI-driven web scraping and data acquisition initiatives 
  • Oversee intelligent scraping architectures using Java-based systems, or other tech stack
  • Implement AI/ML techniques for adaptive scraping, data extraction, and normalization
  • Ensure ethical, compliant, and legally sound data collection practices 
  • Drive automation and resilience in large-scale web scraping systems 
  • Platform, Cloud & Data Architecture Oversight
  • Oversee cloud-native systems across AWS and GCP environments 
  • Guide data platform architecture, pipelines, and integrations 
  • Support scalable distributed systems and event-driven architectures 
  • Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams on CI/CD, observability, and reliability 
  • Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience 
  • 3+ years in engineering leadership or management roles 
  • Proven experience with AI-driven web scraping systems  
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams 
  • Strong background in Java-based systems 
  • Experience with large-scale data acquisition and ingestion platforms 
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures 
  • Experience with AWS and/or GCP environments 
  • Experience leading delivery across multiple technical domains 
  • Strong people leadership and organizational development skills 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Work Environment:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. 

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
