Summary:

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is the new cybersecurity requirement that the Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and subcontractors will need to achieve. There is a shortage of Assessors to help companies become compliant. To be an Assessor you must study for and pass the following exams, which will provided to you through a Licensed Training Provider, during this internship:

Certified CMMC Professional (CCP)
Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA)

Once you pass these exams there is unlimited work potential for participating in CMMC assessments. Much of this work is remote, with occasional travel to client sites possible.

About the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification CCP:

This exam will verify a candidate’s knowledge of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), relevant supporting materials, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The exam will also assess the candidate’s understanding of the CMMC ecosystem. A passing score on this exam is a prerequisite to Certified CMMC Assessor and Certified CMMC Instructor certifications

Requirements:

A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution, OR
Sec+, or CASP+, or Cloud+, or PenTest+, or CGRC/CAP, or GSEC certification.

Exam Prerequisites:

2+ years of related experience or education; or 2+ years of equivalent experience (including military) in a cyber, information technology, or assessment field; and Suggested CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification; and
Complete Certified CMMC Professional Class offered by a Licensed Training Provider (LTP); and
Pass DOD CUI Awareness Training no earlier than three months before the exam.

● Length: 3.5 hrs.

● Passing Score: 500 points

About the Cybersecurity CMMC Assessor (CCA):

This exam will verify a candidate's readiness to perform as an effective Certified Assessor of Organizations Seeking Certification (OSC) at CMMC Level 2. A passing score on this exam is a prerequisite to a CMMC Lead Assessor designation. The DoD ist he authorative source for CMMC documentation.

Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
