  • Serve as the senior strategic voice on measurement evolution (MMM, MTA, incrementality testing, and signal-based optimization) and translate complex data into executive-ready narratives for CMOs and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to clients; lead strategic planning cycles (annual planning, QBRs, roadmaps), identify opportunities to expand scope, and drive growth initiatives and innovation.
  • Oversee delivery of high-quality, insight-driven work aligned to performance goals and brand standards; mentor and develop high-performing teams in a matrixed agency environment.

Job Description:

The Group Director, Performance Strategy serves as the senior strategic leader responsible for driving performance led growth across a portfolio of clients. This role owns the performance strategy vision, translates business objectives into outcome driven marketing strategies, and ensures best in class execution across paid media, owned platforms, and emerging performance channels. 

This individual is both a trusted senior client advisor and a people leader, accountable for elevating strategic rigor, advancing the performance product, and developing high performing teams. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, media, and technology, with a strong emphasis on accountability to business outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Strategy Leadership 

  • Own and lead the development of full funnel, performance led strategies that connect upper funnel investment to measurable business outcomes. 

  • Define strategic frameworks for search, paid social, commerce, CRO, and performance video, ensuring integration across channels and customer journeys. 

  • Serve as the senior strategic voice on measurement evolution, including MMM, MTA, incrementality testing, and signal based optimization approaches. 

  • Translate complex data and analytics into clear, executive ready strategic narratives for CMOs and senior client stakeholders. 

Client Leadership & Stewardship:

  • Act as a senior strategic partner to clients, deeply understanding their business model, growth priorities, and performance challenges. 

  • Lead strategic planning moments including annual planning, QBRs, roadmap development, and growth initiatives. 

  • Identify opportunities to expand scope and deepen partnerships through strategic recommendations, innovation, and thought leadership. 

  • Ensure delivery of consistently high quality, insight driven work that meets both performance goals and brand standards. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in media strategy or growth marketing, with demonstrated leadership at a senior level. 

  • Deep expertise across search, paid social, commerce, CRO, and performance measurement. 

  • Proven ability to lead complex client businesses and influence senior level stakeholders. 

  • Strong experience managing and developing teams in a matrixed agency environment. 

  • Exceptional strategic storytelling skills—able to simplify complexity into actionable direction. 

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, pushing beyond legacy approaches, and driving transformation. 

The annual base salary range for this position is $136,000-$190,500. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.
