Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Lead strategic partnership with the VP of Procurement & Supply Chain and SVP of Finance to develop financial strategies and support sourcing, inventory, and supplier decisions.
  • Oversee annual planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting for procurement and supply chain, including monthly/quarterly/annual forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain inventory and cost reporting, dashboards, and financial models; provide ad hoc analysis for new initiatives, supplier negotiations, and working capital optimization.
  • Manage and develop a team of financial analysts; coach, mentor, and ensure timely, high-quality reporting; prepare executive presentations.

Job description

The Director of FP&A – Procurement & Supply Chain is responsible for leading financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities related to procurement, supply chain, inventory, and cost management across Gibraltar Building Products Group. and its business units. This role partners closely with the Senior Vice President of Finance and the Vice President of Procurement & Supply Chain to develop and execute financial strategies that support operational excellence, cost optimization, and long-term value creation.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and tactical financial leadership, oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, deliver insightful business analysis, and drive decision support for senior management. This role will also be a member of the FP&A group and have an opportunity to lead, develop, and mentor our team of financial analysts to ensure high-quality, timely, and accurate financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership & Leadership

  • Partner with the Vice President of Procurement & Supply Chain to develop financial strategies, track economic and market factors impacting direct and indirect supply, and support sourcing, inventory, and supplier decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Finance to develop and execute key financial strategies aligned with departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to procurement, supply chain, and business unit leaders.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead the coordination and execution of the annual planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting processes for procurement and supply chain functions and support the Commercial and Operations Finance Teams.
  • Partner with business leaders to manage monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and reporting requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive variance analysis (actual versus forecast/plan), identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.

Reporting & Decision Support

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance inventory and cost reporting, dashboards, and financial models with a strong emphasis on accuracy, relevance, and timeliness.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting to support decisions related to new business initiatives, product and customer decisions, supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
  • Conduct scenario and 'what-if' modeling using market data, assumptions, and pro forma indicators to support strategic decision-making.

Management & Talent Development

  • Manage, train, and develop a team of financial analysts, ensuring high standards for report quality, analytical rigor, and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to support professional growth and capability building.

Executive Communication

    • Prepare clear, concise, and compelling financial presentations and materials for senior management, the Board of Directors, lenders, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Present complex financial and operational insights in a manner that supports effective decision-making.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) Finance from four-year College or University, M.B.A. Preferred; and/or 7+ plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ERP systems knowledge, Oracle a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Management experience, strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present ideas, findings and purpose of analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills including time management, project management and prioritization of tasks.
  • Ability to build relationships and all levels of the organization including operating companies and executive management.
  • Sound accounting knowledge to allow for understanding of financial statements and reconciliation.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify opportunity areas and develop analysis to present to senior management.
  • Experience performing financial modeling.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products, especially excel.
  • Strong skills in developing the message for a presentation to senior management.
  • Direct analyst in performing their tasks and provide input and feedback on output.
  • Strong ability to manage time effectively and juggle priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor and guide others
