About the opportunity
Amentum delivers programme, engineering and technical support services across complex infrastructure and environmental projects, including nuclear decommissioning, waste management, and large-scale capital programmes. Our teams support clients across Europe through provision of technical expertise, project management and programme support services, working in highly regulated and multidisciplinary environments. We are expanding our capability in Central and Eastern Europe and are seeking Decommissioning Engineers / Managers to support a range of projects, including nuclear decommissioning programmes and infrastructure projects delivered under PMU and FIDIC-based frameworks.
Role overview
We are seeking Decommissioning Engineers / Managers across multiple experience levels to support the planning, coordination and technical delivery of complex projects. The role involves providing engineering and project support services to clients, including development of technical solutions, coordination across disciplines, and support to safe, compliant and efficient project delivery. This is a client-facing role focused on technical oversight, coordination and advisory support rather than direct execution of construction or decommissioning works. You may be based in Slovakia, Czechia, Poland or Lithuania.
Key responsibilities:
Support planning and coordination of technical project activities, including:
o development and review of technical strategies and methodologies
o definition of work sequences, phasing and delivery approaches
o identification of constraints, risks and interfaces
Provide technical input into:
o engineering solutions and methodologies
o material and waste flows (where applicable)
o site logistics, constructability and sequencing
Support preparation and review of technical documentation, including:
o engineering studies and reports
o method statements and technical notes
o project and work package documentation
Coordinate interfaces across technical disciplines, including:
o engineering design
o environmental and waste considerations
o health, safety and regulatory compliance
o project and construction management
Support clients in oversight of project delivery, including:
o monitoring progress against scope, schedule and deliverables
o identifying and managing technical risks and issues
o providing technical guidance and recommendations
Contribute to project and programme reporting, including:
o progress updates and technical inputs
o contribution to dashboards and reports
o participation in technical and coordination meetings
Operate within a multi-stakeholder environment, supporting coordination between:
o clients and funding institutions
o contractors and suppliers
o multidisciplinary project teams
Level and experience alignmentThis role is open to candidates across different experience levels:
Junior / early career: up to ~6 years experience
Mid-level: typically 6–12 years experience
Senior level: typically 12–20 years experience
Expert level: 20+ years experience

Requirements
Experience in decommissioning, engineering, infrastructure or environmental projects
Experience working in regulated or complex project environments
Understanding of:
o engineering project delivery and methodologies
o construction or decommissioning sequencing and planning
o health, safety and environmental considerations
Ability to contribute to technical documentation and engineering deliverables
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
Relevant degree (engineering or related discipline) or equivalent experience
Strong communication skills and ability to work in client-facing roles
English language proficiency (minimum B2 level)
Desirable
Experience in nuclear decommissioning or radioactive waste management
Experience working under FIDIC contracts or PMU environments
Experience supporting international financing institutions (e.g. EBRD, EIB, World Bank)
Experience in Central and Eastern Europe projects
Experience interfacing with regulators or permitting processes
