Requirements:

  • Compiles and maintains medical records to document patient condition and treatment across the health care delivery system.
  • Checks medical records for completeness and abstracts and codes clinical data such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies, using standard classification systems.
  • Codes minor procedures and physician-based professional services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS guidelines.
  • Works independently in a remote environment to meet productivity and accuracy targets (e.g., 80 accounts per day).

Our Client, a Cancer Center company, is looking for a Coder II for their Remote location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Compiles and keeps medical records of patients of health care delivery system to document patient condition and treatment.
  • Checks medical records for completeness and to abstract and code clinical data, such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies, using standard classification systems.3-5 years of experience
 
Requirements:
  • We are seeking an experienced Physician (Professional Fee) Coder with strong knowledge of E/M coding and minor procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in physician based coding, the ability to meet productivity and accuracy standards, and experience working independently in a remote environment.
  • 3+ years of recent experience in professional (physician based) coding
  • Demonstrated experience coding minor procedures
  • Strong understanding of Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding guidelines
  • Ability to consistently meet a productivity standard of 80 accounts per day
  • Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD 10 CM, and HCPCS coding guidelines
  • Experience with EPIC and 3M encoder systems
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting production standards
  • Certifications required:  CPC, CCS, or CCS P
  • Preferred Experience
  • Some inpatient coding experience
  • Background in oncology/cancer related coding strongly preferred
  • Experience with professional side, physician-based coding (not outpatient facility coding)
