Roles & Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in ESG, sustainability reporting, and carbon accounting within a fast-growth/scale-up environment
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to translate complex sustainability data into actionable insights and board-level storytelling
  • Experience coordinating large ESG programs (e.g., managing 200+ B Corp commitments) and working with multiple teams
  • Self-sufficient, proactive operator comfortable driving initiatives with limited resources and remote work

Requirements:

  • Act as ESG business partner across the company, driving the sustainability roadmap, carbon accounting, and decarbonisation pathway forward while the current ESG Lead is on maternity leave
  • Manage and track 200+ B Corp commitments, coordinate data collection, and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders
  • Translate sustainability data into actionable insights, storytelling, and board-level reporting; collaborate with teams across marketing, procurement, and operations to implement improvements
  • Be the central ESG voice across the business, influencing decisions and ensuring alignment with TrustedHousesitters' sustainability and B Corp goals

The Mission

TrustedHousesitters is a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer marketplace redefining pet care and travel. Our platform connects a thriving global community of pet lovers through a unique, trust-based membership model. We are on a mission to become the world's most loved travel solution for pet people, fueled by a passionate community of nearly 280,000 members.

Sustainability isn't a side project here. It's woven into how we operate, grow, and make decisions. We're a certified B Corp with a no planet B ethos, and we need someone to carry that torch while our ESG Lead is on maternity leave.

The Role: Operational, Story-telling and High-Impact

This isn't a role where you'll be writing a strategy from scratch. The roadmap, the Science Based Targets, and the decarbonisation pathway are all set. What we need is a self-sufficient operator who can pick up the reins and drive it all forward. Someone who can keep 200+ B Corp commitments on track, manage our carbon accounting, and be the go-to ESG voice across the business.

Think of it as being the ESG business partner for an entire scale-up. You'll work across every team, from marketing to procurement, translating complex sustainability data into action, storytelling, and board-level reporting. The scope is wide, the appetite for improvement across the business is massive, and the only limitation is resource, never willingness.

Depending on variables, there may be potential for this role to develop into a permanent position for the right person.

The Process

We value your time and aim for a transparent, efficient process:

  1. Talent Screen: A conversation with our Talent team to explore your experience and motivations

  2. Hiring Manager Session: A 30-minute call with the hiring manager to go deeper on your technical expertise and fit

  3. Practical Task: A take-home exercise focused on a real-world scenario. We'll give you plenty of time and won't expect you to spend hours on it, but it will test the self-sufficiency this role demands. You'll present to the hiring manager and a senior stakeholder.
