Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in data management or governance, data analysis, data quality analysis, or technical business analysis
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Healthcare experience; healthcare payer experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to write basic SQL queries; solid understanding of relational database theory

Requirements:

  • Draft data management policies, programs, standards and guidelines; lead Data Domain Council meetings and drive governance initiatives
  • Mentor and coach Data Governance Analysts and Data Stewards; lead data stewardship workgroups and promote data governance principles across the organization
  • Develop and report program metrics, maintain metadata catalogs, and identify data-related pain points to support remediation plans
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop business rules, ensure data quality, facilitate discussions between end users and data modelers, and coordinate DM/DG activities with business and IT resources

Job Summary:

The Data Governance Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with leadership to develop the Data Management and Governance programs, multi-year roadmaps and tactical plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Draft data management policies, programs, standards and guidelines
  • Lead Data Domain Council meetings
  • Mentor and coach Data Governance Analysts and Data Stewards
  • Lead data stewardship workgroups and teams in data management and governance activities
  • Be a champion or ambassador of data management and governance principles across the organization – leading lunch ‘n’ learn sessions, knowledge sharing sessions, etc.
  • Maintain the group focus; lead discussion toward stated goals and manage the group dynamics in facilitating working sessions with Data Stewards, business subject matter experts (SMEs), and management teams
  • Gain an understanding of the stakeholder’s business culture and priorities, and the need for different modeling techniques when eliciting definitions and data quality requirements
  • Accountable and responsible for the success of specific data management programs (e.g. Data Quality Program)
  • Perform analysis and research to support and/or develop glossary definitions, policies, programs, standards, guidelines and workflows
  • Develop and report program metrics to demonstrate progress and compliance
  • Lead the development and maintenance of meta-data catalogs
  • Identify and quantify data related pain points within the organization and assist in the development  of remediation plans
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop business rules that measure and assure data quality
  • Facilitate discussions between end users and data modelers
  • Responsible for interacting with business and IT resources, and management to coordinate and monitor activities needed to initiate, run and conclude data management/data governance (DM/DG)
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in data management or governance, data analysis, data quality analysis, or technical business analysis is required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of Healthcare experience is required
  • Healthcare payer experience is preferred

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office toolset
  • Proven ability to write basic SQL queries
  • Proven understanding of relational database theory
  • Ability to effectively interact effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at different levels
  • Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
  • Solid understanding of data management and governance  concepts
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Quick learner; flexible; process oriented; highly organized and proactive
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet project deadlines
  • Critical listening and thinking skills
  • Technical writing skills a plus

Licensure and Certification:

  • None

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$94,100.00 - $164,800.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
