Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives to grow and optimize CrossCountry Mortgage’s non-agency product suite (Non-QM, jumbo, HELOC, etc.), scale production, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across departments and with executives to align priorities and drive consensus, streamlining processes across Sales, Underwriting, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, Servicing, and Securitization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (origination partners, rating agencies, investment banks, accountants, legal counsel) to support opportunities and governance.
  • Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities, develop dashboards and KPI reporting, perform post-mortems, present findings to stakeholders, and stay current on market trends and mortgage technology.

Position Overview:

The Associate, Asset Management is responsible for driving strategic growth across CrossCountry Mortgage’s non-agency lending platform, focusing on execution of key initiatives to scale the production, acquisition, and securitization of non-agency mortgages across multiple origination channels. This role collaborates with seasoned investment professionals, operational executives, and external stakeholders to optimize CCM’s portfolio and drive innovation across the following products: Non-QM, prime credit jumbo, second lien, HELOC, and multi-family/commercial loans.

Job Responsibilities:

· Spearhead strategic projects aimed at enhancing CrossCountry Mortgage’s suite of non-agency products, scaling production, and driving operational efficiencies.

· Engage with individuals at all organizational levels, from front-line staff to C-suite executives, to align priorities and drive consensus between the asset manager and mortgage company.

· Build and maintain long-term relationships with external stakeholders: origination partners, rating agencies, accountants, investment banks, legal counsel, and other key vendors.

· Partner with leadership to streamline processes and enhance transaction efficiencies across departments, including but not limited to: Sales, Underwriting, Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, Servicing, Securitization.

· Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities, including in-depth analysis on portfolios of residential mortgages, lending opportunities, and specialty finance products.

· Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide stakeholders with clear insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Conduct post-mortem analyses on completed projects and transactions to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

· Stay updated on the latest advancements in market trends, mortgage technology, and operational platforms to maintain a competitive edge.

· Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates in a clear and compelling manner tailored to the audience.


Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or similar), preferred.

· 2+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or project management, preferably within financial services, mortgage, or asset management industries.

· Experience collaborating across operational departments (e.g., Underwriting, Processing, Servicing) to implement solutions and achieve results.

· Experience researching, implementing, and managing emerging technologies or operational tools.

· Advanced understanding of residential mortgage operations and workflow, with a focus on non-agency mortgage products (Non-QM, prime credit jumbo, second lien, HELOC, and multi-family/commercial loans).

· Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across dynamic teams and organizational levels from front-line staff to executive leadership.

· Highly organized; skilled in managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines in a dynamic work setting.

· Exceptional relationship building skills to influence stakeholders to achieve alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.

· Skilled in leveraging technology to solve complex problems and improve operational performance.

· Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset; skilled in connecting varied components to deliver holistic, forward-thinking solutions and support informed decision-making.

· Proficient in tools such as AI toolkits, Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar platform.

Pay Range: 

  • Annual Salary: 150,000 - 200,000

The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position
