Job description

About Taproot

Taproot Foundation is a national nonprofit powering the next generation of pro bono service. For more than 20 years, we’ve connected nonprofits with high-quality, high-trust support from skilled professionals—so they can meet urgent challenges, grow their impact, and lead with confidence.

Today, we’re expanding that vision. We’re innovating our platform, deepening partnerships, and shaping a future-focused pro bono marketplace. Our aim: a system that meets nonprofit needs with ease, speed, and excellence—lowering barriers to access, centering community voices, and embracing innovation, including AI.

The Opportunity/Role

Corporate Pro Bono Specialists are experienced consultants who provide flexible, part-time support to Taproot’s Advisory Services (AS) team during periods of high demand. Embedded in the AS team, they help lead or support client engagements that connect corporate pro bono volunteers with social good organizations.

Specialists bring strong project management, facilitation, and consulting skills to deliver high-quality programs and ensure exceptional client experiences. They are critical contributors to Taproot’s mission, helping advance nonprofit capacity building, corporate partnerships, and cross-sector collaboration.

This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments, balance independence with collaboration, and bring a technology-forward mindset—including curiosity about tools such as AI—to enhance program delivery and organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management and Service Delivery

  • Lead or support a portfolio of concurrent external engagements, helping to ensure that work is completed on time, in scope, and at the highest level of quality.

  • Design and facilitate engagements, ensuring alignment with client goals and timelines.

  • Provide consistent communication and coordination with client stakeholders.

  • Support development of key deliverables, such as kickoff materials, facilitation guides, and final reports.

  • Ensure each engagement is executed with a high degree of professionalism and quality.

  • Leverage technology and tools (including AI solutions where appropriate) to streamline delivery and enhance client outcomes.

  • Leverage AI-driven tools to enhance client communication, streamline deliverable development, and improve overall engagement outcomes.

Team Coordination and Internal Collaboration

  • Attend and participate in engagement team check-ins, briefings, and debriefs.

  • Communicate proactively with internal staff regarding engagement progress, challenges, and needs.

  • Ensure that internal communication practices are inclusive, fostering collaboration across diverse teams and promoting equitable access to information and resources.

Process Improvement and Organizational Support

  • Contribute to updates of internal tools, templates, and resources as needed.

  • Share insights and learnings from the field to strengthen Taproot’s delivery model.

Other Duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support Advisory Services operations and Taproot’s broader organizational priorities.

This role requires occasional travel (up to 25%), as needed.

Key Interfaces:

Reports to a Managing Consultant. Collaborates with client stakeholders, nonprofit participants, and volunteers. Coordinates with internal project teams across the AS team.

Key Success Metrics:

  • Quality and timeliness of client engagements.

  • Client and participant satisfaction.

  • Contribution to internal resources and feedback.

  • Responsiveness and collaboration with internal teams.
