Requirements:

Listen to real audio recordings and produce precise verbatim transcripts, capturing every spoken element including hesitations and fillers
Timestamp transcripts to the audio with tight synchronization (offset under 500 milliseconds)
Label speakers in multi-speaker conversations (2–8 participants) and manage speaker turns
Annotate non-speech sounds and events (laughter, background noise, unintelligible segments) as applicable

Job description

Join us as a Transcription Specialist and contribute to improving AI-driven speech recognition. You will review audio files, transcribe spoken content accurately, and refine transcripts to ensure high-quality data that supports the development of advanced language models.

Task Summary (What to Expect)

You'll listen to real audio recordings and produce precise, verbatim transcripts — capturing not just what was said, but how it was said. That means every "uh," every repeated word, every trail-off matters. Your work will also include:

Verbatim transcription of single-speaker and multi-speaker recordings, targeting 98%+ accuracy

Timestamping text segments to the audio with tight precision (under 500ms offset)

Speaker labeling in conversations involving two to eight participants

Event annotation for non-speech sounds such as laughter, background noise, or unintelligible segments

What We're Looking For

Native-level fluency in Khmer, including comfort with regional accents and informal speech patterns

The ability to transcribe verbatim — preserving stutters, false starts, and filler words rather than cleaning them up ("I do- don't know what to do!")

Comfort working with browser-based tools (we'll walk you through our platform)

Reliability: consistent quality output that meets deadlines

Payments

You will be paid at the agreed payrate per unit, and all work must meet the required quality standards. You may complete as many tasks as your availability allows.

This is a project-based opportunity with CrowdGen, where you will join the CrowdGen Community as an Independent Contractor. If selected, you will receive an email from CrowdGen with instructions to create your account, complete setup requirements, and proceed with participation in the project.
