Roles & Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trade management software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).

Requirements:

  • Assist with project management for Global Trade Management tools, including system maintenance, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and user training; collaborate with IT to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Develop, update, and implement trade policies to ensure regulatory compliance; monitor adherence, conduct reviews, and support audits.
  • Design dashboards for real-time visibility into trade operations and develop executive-level reports summarizing metrics and performance outcomes.
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvements, including automation initiatives and enhancements to data accuracy, reporting, and workflows; develop training programs on trade tools, policies, and metrics.

Position Summary:

Ciena is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Global Trade Analyst to join its Global Trade Team. This position requires strong project management, organizational, and time management skills, coupled with a proactive mindset, adaptability, and exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. The candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance, driving efficiency, and contributing to global-impact projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

Global Trade Management Tools

   - Assist with project management for system maintenance and enhancements. 

   - Support upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and provide user training. 

   - Collaborate with IT to resolve issues and implement improvements. 

Policies and Procedures

   - Develop, update, and implement trade policies to ensure regulatory compliance. 

   - Monitor adherence, conduct reviews, and support audits. 

Trade Metrics

   - Design dashboards for real-time visibility into trade operations. 

   - Create executive-level reports summarizing metrics and performance outcomes. 

Process Improvement

   - Identify inefficiencies and recommend automation and systemic improvements. 

   - Enhance data accuracy, reporting, and workflows. 

Documentation and Reporting

   - Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance. 

   - Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders. 

Training and Development

   - Develop and deliver training programs on trade tools, policies, and metrics. 

   - Educate teams on compliance requirements and foster a culture of learning. 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields. 

Experience: Internship or coursework in international trade, logistics, or supply chain preferred. 

Skills: 

  • Fluent English communication (verbal and written). 
  • Basic knowledge of import/export processes and global trade regulations. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trade management software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
