We are currently looking for a Principal Data Analyst to join our growing team and support one of our key public sector engagements.

Role Overview

As a Principal Data Analyst (SFIA Level 5), you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality Power BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. You will work with complex datasets, build scalable data models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver insightful and user-focused dashboards.

Key Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end Power BI solutions, including data modelling, dashboard architecture, and UX design
  

• Strong experience working with large and complex datasets, with a focus on performance optimisation
  

• Proficient in Power Query for cleaning, shaping, and integrating data from multiple sources
  

• Strong working knowledge of DAX, including optimisation of measures and calculated tables
  

• Good understanding of data quality, validation, and governance principles
  

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams to gather and refine reporting requirements
  

• Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards to support effective decision-making
  

• Create clear, engaging, and insightful dashboards from complex, multi-source datasets
  

• Deliver dashboards optimised for performance, accuracy, accessibility, and user experience
  

• Build and maintain robust Power BI data models, including relationships, hierarchies, calculated tables, and measures
  

• Ensure consistent and reliable reporting, with appropriate data validation and quality checks
  

• Produce dashboards aligned with user and stakeholder requirements, incorporating continuous feedback
  

• Clearly communicate insights to support business understanding and decision-making
  

• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and reusable
