  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations and support compliance within the advisor's practice, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow

Job Description

Step into an introductory role as an intern and valuable team member of a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial. Assist our team with foundational business functions to help us deliver timely and unique client experiences that define and differentiate our practice. Learn about our approach to financial planning, advice and client service. Grow your knowledge of the financial services industry in a supportive and collaborative work environment. The hired candidate may have the opportunity for full-time employment (commensurate with interest) based on consistent, high-quality delivery and a demonstrated ability self-develop.

About Us
Jensen & Associates is a Private Wealth Advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial located in Chicago, IL. Our mission is to partner with clients in a long-term, trusted financial advisory relationship; deliver objective and tailored financial advice; and bring our clients the peace of mind that comes from having a plan to achieve financial freedom. An intern within our practice will consistently follow high standards of professional ethics and will adhere to regulatory and internal compliance requirements to operate in our clients’ best interest.

The practice has worked almost entirely remote for five years through the utilization of Microsoft Teams video conferencing software and currently works across time zones with multiple team members. Our success in working remotely allows for us to consider candidates who do not reside in Chicago as well. Candidates are however required to reside within the United States.

Job Responsibilities:
•Assist the team with preparing client meetings
•Collecting, organizing and entering client information in our systems
•Completing practice and client-specific projects as needed
•Communicating with external business partners and clients

Qualified candidate must have or be able to demonstrate:
•High attention to detail and organization
•Effective communication with clients and other advisors/staff
•Effective and efficient time management
•Polite and clear phone manner
•Ability to multi-task
•Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor & Ameriprise Financial
•Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the advisor’s practice
•Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow

Required Qualifications:
•A genuine interest in the financial services industry.
•Be actively pursuing a degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting or other relevant degree program. However, other majors are also encouraged to apply.
•Be achieving a minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA and continue to achieve at a high level in your schooling while working.
•Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

There are multiple career progression opportunities within the practice including becoming a financial advisor or leading our marketing and client relationship areas.
 

Pay and Benefits:
•Competitive hourly pay based on our industry analysis and your experience.

Legal Requirements:
•Fingerprinting and background check is required for this position based on SEC Regulations

Base Pay Salary

The range for the hourly wage is $19-$25 an hour
