Job description

OSC EdgeTech, LLC is seeking a talented Network Administrator-Intermediate to join the team. 


OSC EdgeTech is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), an Alaska Native Corporation proudly owned by over 9,400 Shareholders. Cook Inlet Region, Inc., also known as CIRI, is one of 12 land-based Alaska Native regional corporations created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). Position Overview

The Network Administrator configures and maintains networks for remote recruiting stations, including working with ISPs to troubleshoot circuit issues and installing or upgrading routers, printers and Wi-Fi access points. Support is provided to users experiencing issues with Wi-Fi and remote network access. This role responds to incidents, restores service during outages or degradations and manages network-related assets and services across RSN/eRSN environments. Responsibilities include ensuring reliable network operations at assigned remote recruiting stations (RSIDS/locations).


Major Activities

  • Install, integrate, sustain, recover and manage the lifecycle of network devices across all supported environments and sites.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to configure network circuits and VPNS for for Production and COOP sites across NIPR and SIPR environments.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues and outages, schedule upgrades and collaborate with network architects to optimize performance.
  • Respond to incidents and restore service during network degradations and outages.
  • Report on network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and support related efforts.
  • Collaborate with system and network engineers on implementation and project planning efforts.
  • Configure TCP/IP, network interfaces and IP security to support network operations.
  • Utilize network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, SolarWinds to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Maintain IT system patching schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, configurations and procedures.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of LAN environments, DNS, proxy services and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network hardware configuration and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of Cisco firewalls, switches and routers (including Nexus 7k, Firepower, 2960 switches, F5 load balancers, etc.).
  • Understanding of organizational security standards, constraints and operating procedures.
  • Ability to analyze network performance data and identify issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple efforts in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with RSN (Recruiting Services Network) environments.
  • Knowledge of networking and network-based software applications including Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Superior organizational, follow-up, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Work independently, as well as on a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Make decisions, solve problems, and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.



Physical Abilities

  • Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
  • Visual and communications ability are adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.



Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Three or more years of experience in network engineering/administration
  • Valid Security+ certification
  • Valid Cisco CCNA certification
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
