​The Credentialing Dental Network (CDN) team presents an excellent opportunity for an intern to acquire practical experience by supporting provider network operations within a healthcare insurance setting. This internship provides in-depth exposure to dental provider recruitment, contracting, credentialing, and retention processes, as well as insights into data management and compliance with regulatory requirements essential for maintaining a high-quality dental network.


The intern will collaborate closely with the Dental Accounts team on various network management activities. Responsibilities will include assisting with key account tasks such as provider recruitment and communication, documentation management, data validation, and support for meeting preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about the processes involved in recruiting, credentialing, and retaining dental providers within a regulated healthcare network.

Key Duties

  • Assist with credentialing and recredentialing activities for dental providers.

  • Support the review, validation, and organization of provider documentation and data.

  • Help maintain accurate provider records within credentialing and network systems.

  • Assist with tracking credentialing status, follow-ups, and process milestones.

  • Support the preparation of reports, summaries, and audit materials as needed.

  • Collaborate with credentialing, network, and cross-functional partners to enhance workflow efficiency.

  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Provide assistance with communications and meeting preparation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program;

  • Major in Health Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Business, or a related field

  • 3.0 overall GPA

  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care

  • Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Potential Projects

  • Assist with documentation review and organization for credentialing files

  • Support provider data cleanup and validation efforts

  • Help document credentialing workflows and process improvements

  • Assist with preparation for internal reviews or credentialing audits

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.  G.E.H.A considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The hiring range for this position is $43,160 - $54,600 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $60,840 USD. While initial compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications, there is a path to work toward this top rate through performance and continued growth within the organization. The salary range shown represents an annualized full‑time rate. Intern compensation will be prorated to align with the duration of the internship.
