Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Manager to support our centralized Media Decisioning Team. This Team’s raison d'être is to be an anchor for the wider Investment & Planning Teams. This role will contribute a clear understanding of media delivery that will become the source of primary decision-making.
In this role, you will source, assess and recommend the right media data to be used for channel and tactical choices. You will also report on cross‑brand media delivery to establish expected outcomes and interpret the findings to develop generalizable activation principles.
The ideal candidate has experience in media planning and/or buying and enjoys working with large data sets. Someone looking for a transition from frontline Planning or Activation, and into a more analytical role would thrive. You should be confident in making media recommendations and skilled at identifying the data needed to solve specific problems. This role will be guiding Activation teams and will need to be able to speak in a ‘media-language’, and be able to provide clarity around cause-and-effect from moving different media levels.
This role is about deciding which data matters and how to use it to make better media decisions. It is not a pure data‑provision or reporting role. It is about translating data into media recommendations.
Responsibilities
Oversee completion and delivery of numerous reoccurring media reports, including weekly/monthly brand delivery reports, monthly/quarterly investment summaries
Accountable for quality assurance of junior member of the team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Will require checking data against source of truth systems (ad servers, Nielsen, 1P buying platforms, etc.)
Create analysis, both regular and ad hoc, to provide benchmarks, summaries and analytical observations to Planning & Investment teams, meant to improve quality of media plans/buys
Serve as internal consultant to peers on cross functional teams to assist in problem solving, brainstorming, or test design
Responsible for various deliverables across the client portfolio including
Overseeing junior team members’ delivery of routine media delivery reports
Taking on projects to develop standardized benchmarks and recommendations, summarized from delivered or 3rd Party data
Completion of these tasks will require pulling, organizing, and formatting of large data sets and understanding their importance to internal/client teams, in order to anticipate questions and additional needs
Support VP & Director in developing a suite of Media Guidance, inclusive of industry trend analysis and benchmarking, portfolio delivery and process audits
Ability to independently conceive and pitch topics for future projects to VP & Director
Researching, and pulling market data, organizing this data, comparing to P&G’s own data, and compiling findings
Maintaining industry trending reports that will be used to support broader projects
Craft brief for and guide our Data Operations team to produce new reports/dashboards/tools that aid in the maintenance of the account
Serve as project manager to ensure end-product meets need of intended users
Experience & Skills
MUST HAVE a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics or related quantitative field
5+ years of experience in either/both media planning and/or investment
Knowledge of Reach-based planning and sound media fundamentals is necessary
Experience with Linear TV is a plus
Intermediate knowledge of Excel for data compilation, calculation, and automation
Strong communication & leadership skills
Ability to distill the complexity of one team’s discipline into an easily digestible action plan for another team (e.g. complex media problem into simple to understand data brief / complex data issue into what it means to media planner)
Basic SQL experience will be needed
Understanding of developing repeatable datasets for automation, taxonomy, and simple data wrangling techniques
Experience with Media systems (at least knowledge of where main media data comes from)
Nielsen systems (NielsenONE, NPower/TV Toolkit, NMI)

The annual salary range for this position is (94,500-120,000). Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
