This temporary position is Remote, with Department of Adult Correction (DAC).   

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

This position is responsible for conducting the hearing which includes addressing all alleged violations, review of the other state's conditions of supervision as well as the conditions of supervision imposed by North Carolina authorities to determine if there is probable cause to believe that the violations exist, and that the offender should be returned to the state of conviction for a violation hearing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Conducting preliminary hearings in parole and post release cases to determine whether probable cause exists that the post release/parolee violated any conditions within seven working days of the arrest to determine whether there is probable cause to believe that he/she violated a condition of parole or post-release.
  • Position is responsible for completing documentation of the hearing and the results and transmitting the documentation to the North Carolina Interstate Compact Office within the specified time frame.
  • Accuracy is required in the application of the General Statutes that relate to preliminary hearings as well as Community Supervisions' policies and procedures and Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision rules which are federal law
