Roles & Responsibilities

  • 1-3+ years of experience in insurance-linked securities, reinsurance, portfolio analytics, investment operations, or insurance finance
  • Master's degree in Applied Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and advanced Excel (including modeling; VBA preferred)
  • Familiarity with insurance/reinsurance systems (e.g., RMS, AIR) and exposure modeling tools

  • Manage end-to-end monthly servicing for casualty ILS programs, including bordereaux ingestion, reconciliation, cash settlement calculations, claims tracking, and financial reporting
  • Oversee collateral trust activity and ensure timely updates on collateral balances, sufficiency tests, claim withdrawals, and capital calls
  • Maintain and enhance investor reporting packages with trust metrics, portfolio development trends, and performance insights; coordinate investor inquiries and due diligence
  • Develop and maintain Python, SQL, and Excel-based tools to streamline operational processes, transform data into actionable insights, and improve scalability of reporting frameworks

Job description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Portfolio Analyst to support the management, monitoring, and reporting of our Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) portfolios, with a focus on casualty reinsurance and structured insurance transactions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with financial servicing, collateral accounting, bordereaux processing, and investor reporting, combined with strong technical skills in data analytics and automation.

This role works cross-functionally with cedants, brokers, custodians, auditors, and internal investment teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant portfolio operations across multiple ILS programs.

Portfolio Operations & Financial Servicing

• Manage end-to-end monthly servicing for a diversified book of casualty ILS programs, including bordereaux ingestion, reconciliation, cash settlement calculations, claims tracking, and financial reporting.

• Oversee collateral trust activity and ensure accurate and timely updates on collateral balances, sufficiency tests, claim withdrawals, and capital calls.

• Maintain and enhance investor reporting packages with clear documentation, trust metrics, portfolio development trends, and performance insights.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Serve as a key operational contact for cedants, brokers, custodians, legal counsel, and auditors.

• Support investor inquiries and due diligence processes, ensuring all requests are addressed with accuracy and professionalism.

• Coordinate audit responses, regulatory documentation, and compliance monitoring for offshore reinsurers and SPVs

Contract Interpretation & Collateral Methodology

• Review and interpret reinsurance agreements, trust agreements, and related deal documentation to design, test, and implement collateral calculation methodologies.

• Identify and resolve contractual discrepancies by engaging with cedants and internal teams to protect investor interests

Data Analytics & Automation

• Develop and maintain Python, SQL, and Excel-based tools to streamline operational processes, including trust reconciliation, settlement attribution, and performance analytics.

• Transform raw exposure and transactional data into actionable insights for portfolio management and investor-level reporting.

• Enhance reporting frameworks, dashboards, and automation modules to improve scalability and data transparency

Risk Monitoring & Portfolio Analysis

• Support day-to-day monitoring of casualty reinsurance program performance, including loss development, premium flows, reserve movements, and exposure analytics.

• Assist in stress testing, scenario modeling, and forward-looking performance forecasting using internal and external tools (e.g., RMS, AIR, Aladdin).

• Maintain audit-ready documentation and robust internal controls to ensure accuracy and data integrity across all portfolio processes

Qualifications Education

• Master’s degree in Applied Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or related discipline

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and advanced Excel (including modeling, automation, VBA preferred).

• Familiarity with insurance and reinsurance systems such as RMS, AIR, and exposure modeling tools.

• Experience with analytics platforms such as Tableau, Bloomberg, or Aladdin is a strong plus.

Industry Experience

• 1–3+ years of experience in insurance-linked securities, reinsurance, portfolio analytics, investment operations, or insurance finance.

• Exposure to casualty reinsurance programs, collateralized reinsurance structures, or SPV/trust operations highly preferred
