  • Experience in government procurement and/or agency business development (required).
  • Ability to develop relationships and partnerships in both public and private sectors, and to identify new government funding sources for public education campaigns.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and deadline management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams; proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • 3-5 years of experience in media sales, agency business development, or government procurement; college degree preferred; valid driver's license and ability to meet motor vehicle record checks.

Requirements:

  • Develop and grow the regional government/political business portfolio by building and sustaining relationships with key agencies and decision makers; source new RFP opportunities.
  • Assess market opportunities within state/local government and collaborate with Public Affairs to articulate revenue opportunities; source, vet, and select appropriate RFPs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to create compelling, integrated media campaigns and education/outreach proposals; pitch and secure contracts to exceed revenue targets.
  • Manage internal and external teams, coach the Government Partnerships Account Manager Specialist, ensure contract fulfillment, compliance, and measurable campaign results.

Pay Transparency:  The anticipated starting base salary range for New York, Massachusetts, Washington, DC based individuals expressing interest in this position is $125,000 - $140,000.  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. You may be eligible for additional bonus compensation in this role.

Job Description:

 

Government/Political Partnerships Manager to develop, strategize, pitch and win government/political and/or public outreach campaigns within City, County, State, Federal Agencies / Departments and collaborate on existing contract RFPs. This role is based in the DC/Philadelphia Area and includes opportunities at the local, state and federal level.

Partnerships Manager is accountable for regional Government/Political revenue goals, building and implementing the agency strategy to pursue and win RFPs for media, marketing and outreach campaigns. Role includes leading the internal and external teams through proposal response as well as oversee implementation and results of contract fulfillment and client campaigns.

Responsibilities:

The Partnerships Manager is an accomplished business developer with relationships in key agencies and governmental entities able to create and grow the portfolio of business within the region.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Assess the market of opportunity within State / Local governmental entities
  • Assess the market of opportunity with Public Affairs and Issue revenue
  • Continually uncover and cultivate agency relationships and direct government relationships with key decision makers
  • Source, vet and select appropriate RFPs for new business
  • Build effective collaborations with agencies and partners – assemble the winning team – to respond to RFPs
  • Effectively pull on internal teams to create compelling, targeted marketing solutions and integrated media campaigns
  • Pitch and secure public education and outreach contracts to exceed revenue and growth goals
  • Pitch and secure political campaigns to exceed and grow revenue goals
  • Work collaboratively within Government/Political Team throughout the company to grow and effectively manage portfolio of Government/Political business
  • Directly coach and supervise the Government Partnerships Account Manager & Specialist to achieve optimal team performance
  • Identify new trends in public sector marketing to enhance campaign proposals and effectiveness
  • Work closely with compliance team at Audacy regarding political business for Audacy

Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of behavior change marketing techniques and media activation strategies strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop relationships and build partnerships in both public and private sectors
  • The ability to uncover new sources of government funding for public education campaigns
  • Must have a positive attitude and a drive to win- self-motivation is essential
  • Strong communicator with the ability to actively listen, share information effectively and persuasively
  • Excellent presentation skills – able to hold a room, present powerfully, craft presentation strategy, write clearly and persuasively – under deadline
  • Deadline management is critical. Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel absolutely critical
  • 3-5 years media sales, agency business development or government procurement required
  • Knowledge of government procurement is strongly preferred
  • College degree preferred

 

Required:

 

  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
