Requirements:

  • Executive Creative Leadership: Serve as the top creative voice for the client's Global Education web redesign initiative; partner with C-Suite stakeholders to capture, interpret, and execute their strategic vision; present concepts and brand strategies to senior leadership; define and safeguard the overall creative direction to ensure consistency and brand alignment
  • Website Digital Design Direction: Lead the conceptualization and execution of a redesigned, customer-facing education website that is visually distinctive, conversion-optimized, and on-brand; ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), and oversee high-fidelity prototypes and responsive design with Figma and Adobe CC
  • Brand, Marketing Go-to-Market: Define and evolve the client's education visual brand identity for digital and marketing channels; develop corporate identity assets and marketing collateral aligned with go-to-market strategy; collaborate with marketing to support campaigns and product launches; apply data visualization to communicate complex information
  • Team Leadership Mentorship: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team including a Costa Rican-based Jr. Graphic Designer and Sr. UI/UX Developer; provide structured creative direction; set visual standards and workflows; manage timelines and deliverables with stakeholders

About the Opportunity
SweetRush is seeking a Senior Creative Director to lead the visual redesign of our client’s customer-facing website and elevate the overall digital brand experience. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with our American Technology client, operating at the intersection of executive strategy and hands-on creative leadership.

The Senior Creative Director will serve as the primary creative authority, working directly with the client's C-Suite leadership to translate their vision into a compelling, world-class web presence. You will own the end-to-end creative direction — from initial concept and brand narrative through final production — while leading and mentoring a distributed team of designers and UI/UX developers.  

Location: United States / Remote
Contract Type: W2 Hourly Contract with benefits and 401 k eligible after 6-months
Project Duration: 12 months
Project Capacity: 40 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

SweetRush is a remote organization, and as such, all resources must be technically savvy, have access to a strong internet signal, be comfortable with virtual/instant messaging and conferencing tools, and generally be available during established working hours.

Hourly Range - Negotiable 

Your Impact and Responsibilities 

1. Executive Creative Leadership

  • Serve as the top creative voice for our client’s Global Education web redesign initiative.
  • Partner directly with C-Suite stakeholders to capture, interpret, and execute their strategic vision through compelling visual design.
  • Present creative concepts, design systems, and brand strategies to senior leadership with clarity and confidence.
  • Define and safeguard the overall creative direction to ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment across all deliverables.

2. Website & Digital Design Direction

  • Lead the conceptualization and execution of a redesigned, customer-facing education website that is visually distinctive, conversion-optimized, and on-brand.
  • Translate complex business and educational narratives into clear, engaging digital experiences.
  • Ensure all web design decisions support user experience, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), and go-to-market objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and responsive design frameworks using Figma and Adobe CC.

3. Brand, Marketing & Go-to-Market

  • Define and evolve the client’s education visual brand identity for digital and marketing channels.
  • Develop corporate identity assets, promotional materials, and marketing collateral aligned with the go-to-market strategy.
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to ensure creative output supports campaigns, product launches, and customer acquisition goals.
  • Apply data visualization capabilities to communicate complex information clearly across the site and supporting materials.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, including a Costa Rican-based Jr. Graphic Designer and Sr. UI/UX Developer.
  • Provide structured, actionable creative direction and critique to elevate team output and craft.
  • Set clear visual standards and production workflows to ensure quality and consistency across distributed team environments.
  • Manage creative timelines and deliverables in coordination with project stakeholders.

5. Quality Control & Production Oversight

  • Serve as the final creative checkpoint before all design assets go into development.
  • Ensure visual consistency in spacing, typography, layout, component usage, and interaction patterns.
  • Verify accessibility compliance, including color contrast, click targets (min 44x44px), and logical focus order.
  • Maintain clean, organized, development-ready Figma file structures, including variants, auto-layout, and component libraries.

What You Bring - Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in Creative Direction, UI/UX Design, or a related senior design discipline.
  • Expert-level portfolio demonstrating commercial website design, digital brand identity, and high-impact visual storytelling — Please share your portfolio link when you apply.
  • Proven experience presenting to and collaborating with C-Suite or executive-level stakeholders.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of web design principles, responsive design, and front-end development constraints.
  • Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards and their application in web design.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and geographically distributed design teams.
  • Strong grasp of go-to-market strategy, digital marketing, and customer-facing product design.
  • Excellent business communication skills. 
  • Ability to balance high-level creative vision with hands-on design execution when needed. 

Bonus Skills  

  • Experience in ed-tech, B2B, or enterprise digital product environments.
  • Background in motion design, interactive media, or video production for web.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager) and web development workflows.
  • Certifications in UX, accessibility, or design leadership (e.g., NN/g, IAAP CPACC, Figma Advanced, Adobe CC).
  • Experience conducting or overseeing usability testing and integrating findings into design iteration.
  • Background in designing for multichannel ecosystems (web, email, social, print, video).
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Graphic Design, UX Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
