Requirements:

  • Provide direct supervision to lower-level staff and administer policy and procedures to a team of professional Family Services Specialists who provide SNAP, Childcare, and ABD-related medical services
  • Review and respond to requests for information and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures surrounding social safety net programs; provide responses to inquiries concerning applications and review filing requirements, due dates, and similar information
  • Coordinate with other staff or units as needed to clarify policies and procedures; determine the status of individual applications; resolve problems; route requests to appropriate staff and units for processing; and scan and upload customer verifications
  • Attend all training, meetings, and conferences as directed

This position is located is a Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Family Services Specialist IV - H14D

Annual Salary:  $49,806.90 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

This position is designed for telework/work from home however, the employee will be training in an office setting (in person) for the first 120 days and evaluated on performance before working from home full time. All telework positions are subject to Agency Director approval.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience requirements consist of:

  • a master’s degree and one (1) year of qualifying experience.
  • or a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in professional social work.
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) year of experience in professional social work for each year of the bachelor’s degree.
  • or four (4) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist.

Job Responsibilities

  • This is a leadership-level position where the employee provides direct supervision to lower-level staff.  The employee assigned to this level will supervise, and administer policy and procedure to a team of professional Family Services Specialists who provide SNAP, Childcare, and ABD related medical services. 
  • Review and respond to requests for information and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures surrounding social safety net programs; provide responses to inquiries concerning applications and review filing requirements, due dates, and similar information.
  • Coordinates with other staff or units as needed to clarify policies and procedures determines the status of individual applications, reviews and resolves problems; routes requests to appropriate staff and units for processing; and scans and uploads customer verifications.
  • Enters and retrieves information into the system; receives and reviews documents including customer verification; proofreads previously entered data and makes routine corrections.
  • Participates in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of determining successful pathways for client success in reaching their individual goals and achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Employee shall attend all training, meetings, and conferences as directed.
