Purpose

As the Manager of Product Design, you will lead a team of designers dedicated to delivering intuitive, high-quality user experiences. In this role, you will manage and mentor designers while partnering as a peer with Product Management and Engineering to shape strategy, define roadmaps, and drive measurable outcomes for our users and the business.

Product Design is foundational to how our products are built and experienced. You will help shape not only what we build, but how we build it by creating meaningful experiences while empowering designers to do their best work. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of design craft, product thinking, and people leadership.


Position Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to define product strategy, roadmaps, and success metrics.
  • Evidence-Based Design: Ensure all design solutions are grounded in user needs, research insights, and clear business goals.
  • Organizational Advocacy: Champion user-centered design practices across the organization, ensuring design has a voice at every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Process Leadership: Guide the end-to-end design process—from initial discovery and concepting through delivery and iteration.
  • Standard of Excellence: Maintain a high bar for quality, usability, and consistency across all product touchpoints.
  • Systems Evolution: Balance short-term delivery needs with a long-term vision for the experience and the evolution of our design systems.
  • People Management: Actively manage and mentor designers, fostering a culture of growth, high performance, and inclusion.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate design critiques and feedback loops to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience, including a proven track record of managing and mentoring product designers.
  • Strong background in UX and UI design for digital products, with experience working with design systems at scale.
  • Proven ability to collaborate deeply with Product and Engineering partners to influence strategy and prioritization.
  • Comfort navigating complex problem spaces and driving clarity for the team in shifting environments.
  • Excellent ability to articulate design decisions, trade-offs, and the "why" behind solutions to stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile or outcome-driven product organizations with a background in user research or service design.
  • A portfolio or track record of delivering impactful, user-centered products that move the needle.
  • Travel is not a core requirement for this role, but limited travel may be required for internal meetings or industry events.
