  • Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary construction organization, defining team structure, operating rhythms, and performance expectations while fostering safety, quality, accountability, and innovation
  • Act as primary interface with executive leadership, joint venture partners, and stakeholders; communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and strategic priorities to senior leadership; drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders
  • Own portfolio-level financial performance and strategic oversight, including capital planning, commercial oversight, and shaping long-term construction strategy for growth and infrastructure

Position Summary
The General Manager, Data Center Construction serves as the senior leader accountable for the execution of a portfolio of large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects. This role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing construction function that will help define the standard for next-generation AI infrastructure.


Reporting to the Senior Vice President, EPC, this individual holds strategic, operational, and financial ownership across the data center construction portfolio, including responsibility for execution performance, team leadership, stakeholder alignment, and program delivery.


This role is ideal for an experienced construction executive who brings deep program leadership capability, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to scale complex construction operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.


Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Leadership and Execution

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle and overall performance of the Data Center Construction portfolio 
  • Lead execution across multiple large-scale construction programs, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and delivery objectives 
  • Drive consistency, accountability, and operational discipline across the portfolio 

Team Leadership and Organizational Buildout

  • Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary team of Project Executives, engineers, and construction leaders 
  • Define team structure, operating rhythms, and performance expectations to support portfolio growth 
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and innovation across the construction organization 

Stakeholder and Executive Partnership

  • Serve as the primary interface with executive leadership, joint venture partners, and other key stakeholders 
  • Communicate project status, risks, resource needs, and strategic priorities to senior leadership 
  • Drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders in support of execution success 

Financial and Strategic Oversight

  • Maintain accountability for portfolio-level financial performance, planning, and execution outcomes 
  • Support capital planning, commercial oversight, and executive decision-making across the program 
  • Help shape the long-term construction strategy in support of business growth and infrastructure expansion
Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 
  • 15+ years of experience leading large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or technology construction programs 
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects or programs exceeding $1 billion in value 
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams across large, high-visibility construction efforts 
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to drive performance across complex stakeholder environments 

Preferred

  • Experience in the development and construction of hyperscale data centers 
  • Experience leading complex joint venture projects and managing public and private stakeholders 
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure, including hardware, power, and cooling considerations 
  • Experience building or scaling construction organizations in a high-growth environment 
  • Strong commercial and operational leadership capability across multi-site programs 

Work Environment
This role is remote and ideally based in or near the Dallas–Fort Worth area to support periodic in-person meetings, travel, and business needs as required. Travel may be required based on project and business demands.


The position involves regular coordination with executive leadership, field teams, project stakeholders, and cross-functional partners across a growing portfolio of major construction projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and leading through complexity, scale, and ambiguity.
